I cannot take back my purchase or change the course of things 9 months later. I did my homework as best I could and arrived at my new daughter the best I could.

I can only say that she was more than good to me, my baby is very beautiful and very healthy. I must say that I WOULD recommend her to others, if that angers some of you, then so be it, but she has really good puppies.

I know a lady on here who was going to buy from her, and the puppy did get sick, therefore, Glenda did not sell it to her, but they are waiting on another when the time is right.

I found her to be a lovely lady, and I found her business sense to be correct in my case. I could not read this thread in good conscious and not speak up.

I didn't think she sold her dogs to a pet store, but helped a person sell a different breed to a pet store. From what I've read of the details, a friend used her shipping account and the dogs ended up at a pet store, she may have even been mislead by the friend. Obviously, she wasn't careful enough; but does a mistake in the past brand her forever? How does she feel about this now, would she do it again?

When evaluating a breeder there are so many things to take into account, and as buyers we have to weigh and measure what qualities are important to us. I just think it's important to understand, she did not sell her own dogs to the pet store, and to imply she did so is very misleading. So many people are so pleased with other things in her breeding program, and she seems to have beautiful healthy dogs, I just think we should consider that things are not as black and white as they may first appear. There are so many really horrible breeders are out there, and to destroy a good breeders reputation because of one facet seems irresponsible. Are her dogs healthy, well cared for, and does she breed to standard? These should be our primary concerns.

Just because her "professional breeding place" appeared to be all in order and you got a beautiful girl from her, doesn't negate the facts of what she has done.

Why promote someone with very questionable ethics when there are so many other truly reputable breeders available?

I personally wouldn't buy from anyone who handed puppies over to a petstore, whether they were hers or not.

Bell you did, remember and always know I appreciate it. But if you remember when the time came for me to buy that person would not reply to me as she went into seclusion after there was something that had gone terribly wrong at her grooming business, which I will not drag back up, but she just falt would not reply to me so I had no choice but to look elsewhere, I was really sold on her too.

As for you, you have always been kind to me, as I adore yu for it.

No Belle helped me with quest #1, she was not the person who lead me to Glenda, and I will not pos that person's board name as to drag her into that mess. Belle helped to locate this lady in Mississippi, but when I was ready to buy, that lady would not reply, so that is when I started search #2, and found Glenda and bought Maya.

She arranged shipment of someone's yorkies to a pet store, it wasn't just her shipping account. There were numerous shipments, the documents were shown here. And, although Nancy, you posted this is destroying a good breeder because of "one facet",is this not a rather large facet? As I said before the mantra of this site and every reputable breeder I've ever talked to is "DO NOT but a puppy from a pet store". So, we are not to buy from them, do not sell to them, but it is alright to ship another breeders puppies to a pet store? Is that not hypocrisy? If she ships them to a pet store - will not someone buy them from that very same pet store?


In her very own words she claims "that you cannot like the breed, but must LOVE the breed" and that she is a "breeder and fancie" and "I have dedicated thirty years of my life to this breed". Her having stated the above, as a fancier, in love with and dedicated to this breed she was well aware that what she was doing went against a breeders code of ethics, and chose to do so regardless.

If it were one shipment, one mistake and then she changed her practices it might be different. Numerous shipments of yorkies (debatable as to whether or not they were hers), her and her boyfriend's sale of the sick Frenchie, and her sale the liver shunt yorkie, I would say these are all serious mistakes and can not be ignored.

Just because some members here have bought from her in the past, are considering buying from her currently or in the future, or that she has been a colleague in the show world, that relationship with her, doesn't make what she has done okay. Think about it - if this were someone besides Glenda, someone not very well known in the yorkie show/breeder world, you all know you would be condemning her. Please have the courage of your convictions!

I think we all have different standards on what's important in a breeder. Some people say they would never buy from a breeder who smokes; others say that they would never buy from a breeder who uses crates. These are their decisions, but I look for things, that are affecting the future of the breed, such as breeding to standard, and breeding healthy dogs. Humane breeding conditions are extremely important to me, and are the number one priority, for I would rather see a byb selling dogs that weren't to standard, than the puppy miller selling dogs that have kept in horrendous conditions. So we each make these decisions when we are looking for a breeder. I just think it's important to get the facts straight when we are discussing someone's breeding practices, and from reading this thread, I know many people thought she had sold her dogs to the pet store, and this simply wasn't true. To some of you this is a minor detail, but it isn't to me. It just seems to me if this is the worse thing she's done, she isn't all that bad. Truthfully, it isn't the fact that a pet store is selling puppies that outrages me, it the fact that most of these dogs come from puppy mills and that what outrages me. I'm all for people who have high standards when it comes to supporting quality breeders, I just think that there are so few perfect breeders out there and that we must put things into perspective.
