![]() At 4 weeks Rick was 1,76lbs and Rock 1,54lbs; 28,2 oz and 24,7oz; 700g , 800g Think they are going to weight about 3,5 or 4 Kg in adults. One was the smaller until last week, now he has raised a lot.

![]() I just bought a Blue yorkie about 5 days ago he is the cutest little thing, the breeder made sure that I understood that she would not use him for breeding, now I also have blue dobermans and I know what type of problems that their blue coats can have but it seems that yorkies can die from it.I did not know that,we love the yorkie anyway but can you tell me if this is a true blue.

![]() I have had at least one blue born in each litter, which consists of the past 3 litters. They have all been wonderful. I have sold them much cheaper then the black/tans, because I make sure to tell the new owners, a few things like, they are not CKC/AKC/UKC quality, they cannot breed, and they may loose and regrow their hair over their life. The ears are the first to go turning into a leathery skin, and the nose and center of eyes is the next. That is where the hair loss in my experience is. The feet, underskirt and chest never has lost hair. It does grow back. Whomever had the pup pictures of the new born is exactly what they look like upon birth. I have had all but one of my new parents keep in contact with me from time to time, and have never had a problem. The only thing I had happen to me, was a vet contacted me that belonged to a new owner and stated my pup may have mange, I countered with my vet and documentation I had had over some time, and the vet revoked his initial diagnosis, as this is no kind of mange. So, they are different, but they are beautiful and they as all yorkies have wonderful dispositions, patients and love. Take care of your blue babies as they are too special to be thought of as WRONG! Some history for you: I have some that are as old as 3 and 7 years old and they shows no sign of concern and they are fully haired, ears, and noses. This may not be all blue yorkies experience, but this is my luck as of now 10-5-06 Last edited by monisilk; 10-06-2006 at 05:54 AM.

| ![]() I have read this entire thread. I found it to be fasinating. My daughter was interested in genetics for many years and I learned alot from the research that she did. I happened to notice 1 thing throughout the thread, each of the pups mentioned is male. So does this mean that the blue comes out physically in the male, but that the female can carry the gene and you do not see it physically?

![]() To Dizpatch- I have had girls, it is not specific to boys To SweetSophia- I have 2 Yorkies that I love very much, 1 a boy and 1 a girl-I am not a breeder, I am a pet owner, and came by my boy by luck. If they have pups, then I have pups, if they do not, then I do not. It is a simple as that. I do not monitor them, I let them play around the house and outside without supervision. So, to say "Why do let them breed", would indicate that I am doing it for gain. What I am saying is if they have babies, I raise them and I have to find them homes as I cannot keep them with me. I do know a thing or two about AKC/CKC/UKC because when they were born, I did my own research and contacted many people to find out, and have learned much by that. If I have them I make sure they go to nice families and explain in detail what I have learned. I have vet records as I too was curious. I have had them for some time. My dogs are getting older and my theory is if it happens it happens if it doesn't it doesn't -- I don't do it for the gain, but if I have pups, I will sell them to good families to cover my costs.

![]() Thanks for the replies. Here is a side view of him and also a picture of a blue doberman from one our litters, when they are born they look like the yorkies puppies. They also may or may not have skin problems. But all we have to do for them most of the time is give them vitamin e or fish body oil.
