Missing Yoshi Everyday! Donating Member | ![]() welcome to YT...you may want to start your own thread maybe in the breeder section...where you will get more recognition for your problem...as far as help..i personally have never dealt with a blue born...but you can do search up top and it will pull up all the threads that mention blue borns....from what i have read up on....blue borns tends to be a health concern...which may and may not lose all their hair and die early..

| ![]() drodri001: you should read all my posts in this thread because I had your problem but now I have knowlage enough to deal with this not getting mislead by others who tell you they are going to die etc... My advice: spay both parents and puppies when they are old enough and live happy, its untreatible but harmless. There is alot of information out there, just look for it like I did. |

| ![]() I have been raising yorkies for over 13 years and thankfully have never had a blue yorkie. I am curious about where these are coming from. Was this the results of a line breeding or an outcross breeding? I hope your babies do okay. |

What did she have to say about these pups? Has she had any of this in her lines, if she did I am sure she probably would not tell you anyways. Do these pups have any white on them ( chest feet?) Was all the pups carriers? | |

| ![]() A percentage of blues will have problems . Some are fine full coats no health issues. I think a good deal depends on how blue they are do they have brown or tan markings with white chests and maybe a few feet, are they all blue or do they have blue with tan markings? Chocolates can have sparce hair and health risks also, so just not the blue babies. You did not try to breed for this I pray for the best outcome possible for these babes. ![]() |

| ![]() Yes, I wish these babies a long and happy life but, its better to neuter them or avoid crossing them and the apparently 'good' siblings, just in case...to prevent further heartbreaks. The best thing is consulting a vet, and don't make a big drama. One more thing, I have read that this is a very very old gene 'defect', as old as dogs are. |

This color should not be promoted or bred for and buyers of blue born pups should always be told about the problems that are often associated with Color dilution Alopecia.

| ![]() I would not promote them at all. I had the whole litter spayed and neutered for that reason. I was just saying that when I first had that litter last year I came on here and was scared to death and was almost ready to put those babies down so they did not have to suffer. I was just letting the poster know that they do not all have health issues....a small percentage do...but definately spay and neuter them. |

| ![]() Just had a blue puppy born on Friday. I would love to see pictures of the true steel blue blue as they got older. I had my vet check her out and she is a healthy chunky monkey! lol She checked out fine at the vets and thriving. Both parents have the thick full coat and wonderful healthy lines. I will enclose a picture. |
