If I recall correctly, the breeder of that dog was "questionable" to many as well. So not a whole lot to base that comparison on, IMO. Now someone with some actual knowledge please clarify: is a parti a dog with white, or a dog w/ 3 colors?

| more like cashing out. I have not made anything on Golden Partis. In fact I have probably spent more than most people on here would ever dream of to try to get the dogs that would produce this color pattern. Currently I think I am at negative 35K. WOO HOO |

I think it's pretty clear when value is placed on the standard... Last edited by BamaFan121s; 09-16-2008 at 08:47 AM.

| Welcome Zane! I see you've come a long way since I last spoke with you. Congratulations on your "Unique" colorful additions. You have the first golden parti that I've seen. I've heard of pups who carry both the parti and golden gene (or the parti and chocolate gene) so I knew it would only be a matter of time before we saw parti goldens.

Good question, on the registrations on mine it says Blue and gold with white. Skye actually does have 4 colors on her. Two different shades of Gold and White and some black. My other dog Widget who is not a full parti also has 4 colors: Black, Gold White and silver.

| Parti colored is caused by a white spotting gene, so whatever the base color is with white. Most parti's we see now, are tri color parti - blue or black and tan or gold and white. The golden parti would be tan/gold and white so would be a bi color parti ... does that sound right Zane (I've not seen a golden parti in person, so I'm guessing there are only 2 colors in the adult coats?

| I think the silver is probably not that uncommon, It is just misregisterred as Blue or maybe it is from the blue color being washed out over time as some have suggested black dogs are being bred in to correct. The silver is not white like the parti and not blue either. As for how it happened I can only guess that it took a few generations of mixing and matching bloodlines. He is very pretty though and his confirmation if perfect, it is a shame there is no class to show him in. |

| I think Jeanie's parti girls are blue/tan and white but they may carry the golden gene (sire of her girls, has produced golden pups). She's now looking for a golden parti carrier male (looks traditional colored but carries both the parti and golden gene) to breed to her parti girls. Maybe Jeanie can fill us in better????

I've never heard of a breed standard for partis whether AKC, FCI, CKC, KC and AKU. I just know of the breed standard for Biewers as they have their own breed club.
