Puppy watch??!!!??? I think I am officially on puppy watch. My Zoe is 64 days and this am had the biggest temp drop and two hours later...still down at 98.2. She is stratching at blankets, wondering the house...keeps going in my bedroom, which is not her whelping room! Finally she went and layed in her welping box stratched around some and now is laying down. She had diarriah this am. She is licking herself and is really swollen. Sooo, do you guys think I can consider myself on puppy watch? |

Hooray! A daytime puppy watch! Maybe this one will happy before I go to bed tonight.....but hopefully not while I am out this afternoon. Gotta go check out the hall we're using for my daughter's wedding for decorating ideas. Good luck with the whelp.......hoping all goes smoothly. Is this a first for you and the little mama? |

I took temp a few min ago and it was 97.9! I was wrong before, I said day 64, it is acutally 65. I forgot today was the 25th. I will keep you guys updated and keep the camera ready! Thanks for all the support, I'm nervous! |

Thanks guys! I am nervous, but I'm trying not to let it show. I sure don't want to make her nervous or uneasy. This is her first litter in 3 years, but we have only done this one other time. She is staying in her whelping box and licking herself alot. She has not started to pant or breath hard yet...does that always happen? I'm so excited to see this little boogers. Seems like she has been preggers forever!!! Her temp is still down, so I definatly think this is it. She went out to potty and has runny stool still. Will it hurt to give her a bath? She got herself a little messy a min. ago. I don't want to bath her if it will hurt her, or if it's too close to time??!?! |

a lite little splash bath should not hurt....i wouldnt get her totally wet though...she might get a chill and that is something that i dont think would be a good idea right now....just take a sloppy wet wash cloth and clean her up good....make sure it is nice and warm....sounds like puppies soon....you will find lots of nice people on here that will be very glad to help in any way they can.....i am not a breeder yet....i hope to have my first litter some time in the Spring......welcome to yt.... Any puppies yet???? |
Not yet, she is just resting. I'm gonna leave for like 3 min and take my 3 yr old little girl to her granny's house. I think she is making Zoe nervous. She keeps running and screaming though the other parts of the house, but she is definatly disturbing the mommy to be. |
Oh hooray..........NO puppies yet!:eek:Well, that sounds like the wrong thing to be saying  LOL What I mean is; I'm glad I didn't miss it while I was out seeing the church and hall for my daughter's wedding.(Very cute & quaint way out in the country.) But, I'm here now, so come on Zoe, time to get down to business. Let's have those puppies this evening so that we can all get a good night's sleep tonight! Hugs & Prayers for a safe successful whelping............... |
Sorry, I would rather not refer to you as Zoe's mom...but I don't know your name. How is Zoe doing? Anything new...update us when you have a chance. Good luck!!!! I'm glued here!!! |
Ha ha...My name is Wendy. She is sooo restless. She is in her whelping box and just keeps getting up, turning circles and repositioning. I checked on her tummy a few min. ago and saw little to no puppy movement...is this normal? A couple days ago she was big in the ribs and just a little bulgy in her tummy, now her tummy is huge and tight. She even looks big, right above her little butterfly (that's what we call it..lol) Her butterfly is huge but right above she has bulging. Oh I'm so excited. Her breathing has gotten a little faster over the last little bit, but still not heavy. |
Ooooooooo, I believe that bulging abover her butterfly:p is a puppy waiting to make it's way into the world. Shouldn't be a whole lot longer. I hope. |
 anything happening yet? |
I'm not a breeder but here is a link with tons of great info from numberous breeders. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/bre...-dropping.html This is the thread from when Starla's baby girl Peyton had her pups. It is very long, but has a wealth of information on whelping. Good luck...and keep us posted. |
She just stood up and turned circles, clawing and even biting her whelping box blanket. Now she just laid back down and is trying to sleep. I bet we are looking at a long night... |
is she stretching back when she lays down....if she is stretching it may not be long at all.....feel of her tummy about every 15 minutes and see if she is having contractions.....once those start the show is on |
Oh another puppy watch:D.......:Dyeah! Good luck with your whelping! |
She is laying on her side with her whole body stretched out straight. |
She is the kind of dog, when I'm sitting, she is in my lap, well, she is not even trying to move from her box when I sit down. When I talk to her and encourage her, she just gives me this "what's happening mommy" look. |
the stretching out from what i have read lately is the puppies lining up to come on down so to speak....looks like an all nighter for you....i hope you caught a nap today |
 where did she go?????????? |
I'm here...I actually had no nap..but there is no way I could even think of sleeping..lol Her breathing is becoming a little heavier and a bit faster. She isn't panting, just breathing hard. The bulge above her "butterfly"..is a bit larger now...She also is licking herself more..Come on girl |
