| day 65 and no whelp...please help One of my females is on day 65 and still no signs of labor. Do you think she miscarried or what. I felt her belly and I don't feel any babies but when I took her to the vet to do an ultrasound...it said that she was having 2 for sure. So any info would help. This is not her first litter. |

| Jow many times did they tie? did you count from the first tie? Maybe she was not ovulating at that time. Does she look pregnant? Are her nipples prominent? Is he vulva swollen? |

Living My Yorkie Dream Donating Member | When did you have the ultrasound done? Is it day 65 from the first tie....second....???? Maybe check with your vet again if it's been awhile since the ultrasound, maybe do an xray??? Not sure how long after 63 days is too long, but I think you're still okay. Might want to check with your vet tomorrow if it will ease your mind though.

| How many times did they tie? did you count from the first tie? Maybe she was not ovulating at that time. Does she look pregnant? Are her nipples prominent? Is he vulva swollen? They tied 4-5 different times. When I went to the vet, he told me that they tied on the last tie. The ultrasound was very obvious that she had two babies. He even gave me a picture of it. She doesn't look, feel, or anything pregnant though. Her nipples aren't even swollen. Her vulva isn't swollen either. Has anyone had a dog that miscarried? |

| In my opinion there is no need to panic and call thwe vwet if she is not showing signs of distress. If she was not ovulating at the time of the first tie then the count would be off. Just keep an eye on her and if no puppies then no puppies. If she is healthy and happy I wouldn't worry. If she's pregnant they will come, no one stays prgnant forever. If she appears to be in pain or listless or otherwise not feeling well then that might be reason for concern. Also is she still eating. Mine tend to not eat, vomit and have diarrhea just before whelping,. |

I did the ultrasound on day 33 of her pregnancy. He measured the babies and everything. I do have some of those ear things that doctors use to listen to a human heart beat. Do you think if I put that on her belly that I might be able to hear them? | |

| Has anyone ever had a dog miscarry? I really don't feel any puppies in there and I saw them with my own eyes on the ultrasound. I know that she was pregnant |

| I'm sorry, now that I'm looking at my calendar, she is on day 66. Her last tie was on March 21. I didn't think that they could go that long. |

| I have not had a miscarriage, I don't know what happens if they do, if you would know it or not, but perhaps they just died and her body absorbed them. |

YT 1000 Club Member | Sometimes for whatever reason the puppies may not have made it and the bitches body reabsorbs the fetuses. I found this out in february. My female went into heat in late december early january was bred, tied and showed obvious signs of pregnancy. Palpitation was done and confirmed it but when it came time for xrays there were no puppies. The vet told me that sometimes the mothers body reabsorbs a puppy or the entire litter if there are any complications. She also said it is better that this happens early on because then the female has a better chance of bouncing back. It's harder when she goes full term and delivers dead puppies. There tends to be alot of emotional scarring for the female.
