| ![]() I would just take her to the vet and find out. I know fear is a factor seeing her pregnant and then not seeing her pregnant however it is in her best interest to take her to the vet to find out if she has reabsorbed them during the gestation period. I have seen pregnant dams pregnant one day and look different the next however the owners bring them right in. They might of reasorbed them or they go home and the owners have brought them back because they pass the green masses and then sometimes they pass a fossil looking puppy. They can get very depressed so far along they need expert care. Please take her to the vet for your peace of mind and hers..... Be Blessed

| ![]() i think it is possible that her body re=absorbed the babies. That happens sometimes when late in pregnancy the belly goes down and everything looks like the dog is not even pregnant. There is nothing that can be done about it. |

Perhaps some people think that they could be panicking over nothing. Why waste the money at the vet if its a common thing that is no cause for concern? I mean, every question on this board could be answered with "call the vet", but people are looking for someone with a similar experience or some understanding. I would not want to spend the money at the vet if it was not nessesary.

| ![]() Over the years I have had females that I was sure were pregnant because they were showing all the signs and then slowly they start looking less pregnant and no puppies. After doing some research I have found that it is pretty common for females to absorb their puppies. This is being conformed more since vets have started do ultrasounds more on pregnant dogs. There have been cases for example where the ultrasound would show 7 pups and only 5 would be born, so 2 were absorbed. So a bitch could lose all her pups or just some of them. Usually absorption can take place the 28th to 35th day of the pregnancy. When this happens the bitches body breaks down the embryos and absorbs the material. There are a number of things that can cause this, it could due to a hormonal failure to maintain the pregnancy, stress, injury, over crowding in the womb, genetic conditions or lack of proper diet. This is why when you breed your female it is important, especially after the 28th day of pregnancy (or sooner) to keep them from getting too stressed and try to keep them from jumping too much. |

| ![]() if this was my dog, i would get my vets opinion just to be on the safe side. i know reabsorbtion of pups can be common, but im the kind of person who would rather be safe than sorry. good luck with things! ![]()

No "Call your Vet" is NOT the only advise anyone should give the OP for we are here to learn and help each other to share our experiences and if you don't breed or have never lost any puppies due to a miscarriage then how can you say someone else wouldn't know what advise to give who has lost a puppy or litter due to a miscarriage. Us Breeders who are EXPERIENCED would tell her to go to the VET if we felt she needed to...We're not as others think we sometimes are giving bad advice or just playing games with Yorkies, Whelping and litter of Puppies and there has been many of times when Experienced Breeder has told people here to take their Yorkies to the Vet. "I am so tired of people coming here needing immediate advice when they know they should ask the vet but either don't want to take the dog in or don't want to spend the money" If your so tired of having people come on and ask us Experienced Breeders advice then don't read the threads or post to them. It's that simple. We're ALL suppose to be here to Help, Care, Respect and Enjoy each other not down each other or post RUDE comments. Please help us keep YT a Nice and Friendly place not full of Hatefullness. I hope I've not hurt or offended anyone over my post. I just want us to all "TRY" to be happy and get along. ![]() | |
