![]() Ok, I said I wasn't going to do this again, but her temp is 99.3. That is the highest it has been in 48 hours. She is acting normal and eating anything she can find.. She has always been one to eat ANYTHING that she can get into her mouth.. I guess this means that we are not close... Now that Breny lost both her pups, I am TERRIFIED that I am going to lose one or all...If I see that one is stuck and she cannot get it out, am I better off to just take her to the vet asap. I am sure that I am over reacting, but I am absolutely terrified about this.... Last edited by amanda350; 05-03-2008 at 10:50 AM. Reason: spelling

![]() I had a pup's head stuck in my last litter. Tiah had cleaned it off and even severed the cord. She was doing so well that I just kept checking on her with as little interference as possible. When I checked this particular time I thought that the pup was laying with his head UNDER her. ![]() ![]() Last edited by Julz; 05-03-2008 at 12:12 PM.

Wow, you are dealing with alot these days aren't you? A skylight in the bedroom....might be hard to sleep during storms, but kind of cool to see the light show during a thunderstorm......maybe. Anyway, with all you've got going; "Kallie, it's time to get down to business and give your mommy one less thing to worry about." I was one of the two people who asked for another belly pic. I just pulled them both up side by side (even without doing that I could tell) and it is very noticeable to me that the pups have moved farther down. Seeing that and going by the dates you mentioned in your initial post I'd say she has got to pop at any time. If only she would ![]() "Come on Kallie, we are all so anxious to meet your beautiful little babies! Pretty please!" Keeping my fingers crossed for you ![]() ![]()

![]() Not much has changed... I posted pictures of the whelping box that I put in her xpen and she has not had anything to do with it since it got there.. Well today I have been in and out planting some flowers and stuff and I peaked through the door and there she was laying in that box, on top of the heating pad. Whenever I opened the door to see if she was ok, she would come out to greet me... Then on the way inside to take a shower, I walked passed her and she was laying in there looking around and she never got up to greet me, she just watched me walk by.. Very unusual for her... Then when I got out of the shower, she was ready to see me and she has been acting normal ever since..I am pretty sure that it will not be tonight either.. I am going to check her temp before bed but I do not think they are coming for atleast....oh I'd say a year or so.....lol...Lord knows it feels that way.. If a baby gets stuck, how will I know when she is having a contraction?? I know with mine I screamed and cursed people....Will she do that??? lol

![]() Hi, I just found this thread. How fun for everyone watching for babies! I notice that the pups "drop" and the hip area looks really skinny, just a few days before whelp. I also found that the temp goes down for several days, and then goes back up again and when it goes down again, supposed to have babies usually within 24 hours. However, the temp thing made me crazy too, so stopped doing it. Does she have milk? KY does help with getting one out. I squirt a 3cc syringe full up into her and then use a glove and spread it around. If you have to pull, pull down, towards her belly with contractions. I also use paper towels to grab the baby, so they're not so slick. I syringe feed if needed instead of a dropper, the drops were too big for a tiny, and I have more control with a syringe. I know that you have lots of phone numbers, but feel free to call me at any time too, if others can't be reached. It helps to have someone on the other end letting you know it is OK. Mine don't chew, but lick their legs too. I think it is a way of taking their mind off of being scared. She should shake and shiver for being scared just before labor starts. She may run to you really scared. It is time when that happens. All of mine do that, even seasoned breeders. Hope I didn't overwhelm you, but I think she is close and I just got on board. Thinking good thoughts for a stress free delivery! You can call me too, if you want. 660-686-3330 at any time. It will be all over with in a few days, and you'll do fine. Trouble is, you're going to be exhausted before the all nighter having babies... Welcome to the club, lol

![]() Ok I just checked her temp and it was 99.4....What does that mean? Nothing I have learned... How do I know if she has milk? I looked at her boobies as my son calls them and did not see any milk nor did any come out when I gently squeezed them... I hope that wasn't the wrong thing to do.. How long after the milk comes in do the pups come? This may have already been said...

![]() You might be on the upswing of the temp cycle. It should go back down and stay down and that's when the babies are supposed to come. As far as milk goes, most have milk a few days before whelping, but of course others don't get milk until after they whelp. Wish we could be more of definate help, but there really is no rule of thumb for any of them. You will know when it is time, she will make it obvious. Hard to explain now, but you will know. If it were me, I would set my alarm for every hour or two and check on her.
