Angel is just laying around and appears to be resting the puppies are moving around. I do not see any contractions no panting, I see her shake alittle and or twitch but not all over her body. Are puppies just moving dowN? |
Did kandie just lay around until the labor really got harder? I noticed on angel her bulge seems to be lower away from her ribs. she moves around if I try touching her, up till now she seemed to enjoy me laying my hand around her girth on one side or the other or on her belly. |
Oh what a nite.. I posted on a new thread in case anyone wants to go there.. kandie having babies.. anyway I am not tired.. and she had three boys and one girl.. and the last one she wanted to go outside to pp and the baby was still attached.. so it was very difficult for me to make her stay and finish her job.. then she pp on the floor for she had to go too bad.. I posted picture's on the new thread.. I think some one asked me to make a new thread.. I hope so for I did.. thanks all.. and I will keep watching the may thread.. now to clean up the babies and kandie and get them into clean bedding..she would not let me earlier started to move them.. so now hubby is in bed.. I might have to do this alone.. well no might about it...anne |

Dana, maybe I've misunderstood you, but if you see a bulge that has been there awhile, and nothing is happening, you need to go to the emergency vet. She could have a puppy stuck in the canal, which will prevent all others from being born. |

I think maybe she means the bulge the puppies make on the sides of the tummy on a pregnant mommy...I THINK...but don't quote me on that...:rolleyes: |

first puppy Angel had her first puppy at 7:14 am a little girl 4.7 oz. she is doing good. I started to worry she had no puppies and was going on 24 hours no food no water except sips off my fingers , both mom and baby are doing good. Baby latched on to a tit.:):p just before we sent this a nother puppy was born. |

Skittles... Well Skittles is still waiting! We go this afternoon for xrays, she is on day 61. The whole family is taking guesses as to how many total and how many of each sex. :D She had me on edge last night. She hopped into her whelping box for the first time and was kinda rooting around in it but then just laid down and went to sleep. She ate a lil bit this morning and was following me around while I was going thru my morning routine. I'm so nervous and anxious all at the same time. My biggest fear is birthing a pup that is breach! lol And to think I am going to school to be a nurse and want to work in L&D! lol |
I think the time is almost here. Her temp is 98.4, dropped from 100.4 last night. She is panting, and had loose stools this morning. Right now she is resting comfortably, but I am pretty sure today will be the day. Send some EASY Labor Vibes!!!! Just to update, we are thinking their are at least 6 pups according to the X-Ray taken at day 58. This is her third litter, last two litters were 4 pups. |

We are getting closer here too. Chloe's belly has dropped and she has milk...one pup is already at the top of the birth canal ready to come out...it will be soon. ;) Probably not more than a few days...I wouldn't be surprised if she goes early... |
Angel had 7 puppies, all girls. But she has only 4 nipples available the rest are inverted. How much and how often do I need to feed the puppies to help her? |

Angel only pushed with the puppies if she let me get to the puppy first then I was able to clamp and cut the cords. Two of them she chewed off the cord. she had 2 retained placentas. I took pups and mom to the vet by noon and he had another look at the xray in his office and he saw an 8th puppy. He checked the puppies for cleft palates and checked her for anything, they took one more xray, no more puppies thank God. all girls and their weights are 4.7,4.7, 4.6, 4.2, 4.6, 3.8, 5.5. they are tiny I let all my kids stay home from school that still live at home, all 5 of them, soon after the 2 others followed. Angel only has 4 nipples that the pups latch onto with difficulty. I shaved all the hair off the inverted nipples. should I supplement with formula or just rotate the pups in and out of the whelping box with her? |
