But many many good posts here to the positive.
You all know of people who've been scared away.
But do you really know how many lurk on this forum and never post?
The sad thing is you cant educate others if it always turns into a debate.
You're preaching to the choir ...I dont believe for one minute that those who dont give a hoot about careless breeding even bother come to YT...but thats just IMO

I just know that its sad for me to get up morning after morning to several emails , then more thru out the day.

I try to help them as much as I can.
But I am only one person. And I dont have all the answers for them.
And I know that theres many more people here that I look up to that know more then me. And theres always more info with multiple posters then I can ever provide.

I know today alone I have gotten over 100 PMS ...and emails to my addys.
So dont none of ya'll come knocking at my door today and wanting to visit...
I've been online all day and my house is a MESS!!!!!

I dont feel that EVERY breeder needs to be showing their dogs, but, if breeding Yorkies is actually where the interest lies, it would be advantageous to the non-show breeder if they would attend and/or enter shows. That would just further the education on this wonderful breed. Maybe join a kennel club and get more involved. Its great for kids to learn and compete also. Education is un-ending. The people that I consider to be a bybr are the people that never get better and have other motives than betterment of the breed. They breed for the sake of breeding, just to make a $ or show the kids the "miracle" of life, or want to re-coup the cost of the purchase price. They never have their Yorkies evaluated by a vet or a knowledgable breeder/mentor and they dont breed to the YTCA standard for the breed.



Also, to what advantage would a closed forum be? I like to read everybodies opinions, information and suggestions. Wouldnt a closed forum be like sensoring? Nobody learns from this. Just wondering.

You know it is the same with me and it's day after day. Like you I try to help all I can. It's just a shame that we breeders can't share openly from our experience. Just like this thread, most of the breeders left because of things being said by non-breeders.

I wanted to comment that many knowledgeable, experienced breeders have left YT or refused to comment in this forum any longer because they were tired of being called rude, and because they didn't feel like anyone took their good advice anyway. So while this thread is saying that people are leaving or afraid to post for fear of people being rude to them, know that plenty of great breeders have left because they are frustrated with many of the people breeding and lack of willingness to learn.

There is no place for rudeness from anyone here at YT. Period. If everyone would make a conscious effort to temper their posts with kindness then no one would fear posting or feel the need to leave.

But dont you think its better to spoon-feed someone rather then stuff it down ones throat? Just a thought....
I'm not saying that many did that.
But when questions turn into debates.
And newbies read this they are scared to death to post.
Most....not all do read a lot before they post.
Not all but lots do. You'd be surprised.
I think its sad that we've lost a lot of good breeders here who really have a wealth of information and years behind them.
I wish they'd post if they are still here.

right, but that is not my point. Experienced, knowledgeable breeders have left YT and this forum completely because they are so frustrated by many member's attitudes. And when they give good advice, they get called rude because it isn't what the person wanted to hear. So we've lost many great breeders because people make assumptions and read the tone wrong...these breeders are not afraid to post - they are tired of being frustrated by it all

well, I don't believe in spoon-feeding or stuffing it down someone's throat...both are extremes. No one should have to walk on egg shells, and no one should be rude either. Everyone should be able to post in a discussion without feeling attacked or being called rude.

I too wish those great breeders that have left in the past would continue to share their experience but I completely understand their frustration

My point is there is no place at YT for rudeness. According to the forum posting rules. There is just no excuse. Adults should be able to control their frustrations and act like adults. Whether any of us post is a personal decision. The rules of the fourm in general and the Breeder's Forum in particular require that we be civil to one another.
