Of course some homes are large enough but my point is they need sunshine and outdoors...I guess where I'm coming from is because I know some show breeders that special yorkies dont even let them touch grass or even the ground outside and even inside. I totally believe in letting them experience the joy of running and playing in the grass, chasing birds ect...makes for a well rounded and happy dog! Of course may not be possible but I'm not against a yorkie playing in the backyard...fencing is important and also if someone has a pool that the pool area is fenced so the dog can't get near the pool...case in point...my harvey's sire drowned because of no fenced off area around the pool...I know it was an accident but just like with kids better to have a fence than none at all...JMHO

I do have a VERY small backyard (I live in a townhouse) that is fenced in and lined with bricks. Lacy hardly ever goes out there and neither do I unless I'm grilling something... I see no reason why you can't let a yorkie run in a small backyard either....Like I stated dogs need sunshine and time to play in the yard... you have a small fenced yard your yorkie could be having the time of her life enjoying the grass and the sunshine....

All I was saying was that I didn't like that some homes are turned away because they don't have a fenced in yard. But I agree that it is great for there to be a backyard for the dogs to play. Once I'm out of vet school and settled somewhere, I plan to have a house with a nice-sized backyard so my babies can play out there

It makes me so sad. I don't like any dog living outside 24/7, but at least a dog in a backyard can move around a lot. A dog on a chain can't move much at all...no exercise or anything. It's so sad

We have a nice park right across the street from my house so we walk over there sometimes. It's been a little wet and chilly lately, but she loves to go over there and bark at the ducks, even though they're like the same size as her...and the geese are like twice her size.

Tell them the truth without a doubt, Sure they can lie to another breeder put perhaps they would think about what they are really doing, when given some home truths

| I have only had 9 puppies to sell and came across 2 people I didn't want to have my puppies. 1 had young children and I told them that maybe yorkies weren't a good idea for children and the second was a woman kept calling me, but it was very strange, she would call and ask to come over and then call again and ask if she could come over, when I told her she just called me, she said "I did??" This happened about 5 or 6 times, so the last time I spoke to her, she said that she was sick and the medication she was taking made her forget. I know this might not sound very nice, but I never answered the telephone when her number came up again. I was afraid that she might even forget that she had a dog.

I absolutely agree with GAOMariposa. A breeder asking questions means they care about their puppy and better the chance of getting a healthy one. If I am doing something wrong I would most certainly want to be told so that I can correct the problem. As for allowing my little ones to run loose in a fenced in yard, no way. Too many hawks flying over. Complete supersvision and long leashes have to do. Joanne
