I see no reason why you can't let a yorkie run in a small backyard either....Like I stated dogs need sunshine and time to play in the yard... you have a small fenced yard your yorkie could be having the time of her life enjoying the grass and the sunshine.... |
LOL When I say a very small backyard, I mean TINY! It's like the size of a master bathroom. I want to say it's like 20feet long by like 8 feet wide. It's really small. And most of it is a slab of concrete with a small amount of grass around it. It's really just big enough to stick a grill out there..and then of course the AC unit is out there. So she doesn't really have space to run at all out there. But if I had a backyard, she'd definitely get to go out and play. I definitely agree that it's wonderful for a yorkie to have a backyard to play in. I really wish I did have a bigger backyard so she could run outside. So it's not that I wouldn't let her..I just don't have one big enough for her to play out there. She's been to some friends houses before who had nice backyards and she had a great time playing out there. I've also taken her to dog parks before, but unfortunately the one here isn't very safe as it isn't divided into big and small dog areas so we don't go there anymore. I take her on walks though.
All I was saying was that I didn't like that some homes are turned away because they don't have a fenced in yard. But I agree that it is great for there to be a backyard for the dogs to play. Once I'm out of vet school and settled somewhere, I plan to have a house with a nice-sized backyard so my babies can play out there
