Maybe they should help the breeders of Parti's instead of trying to hinder them. It could be a benefit to all Party's involved

No, reputable breeders are never done....there is no perfect yorkie, if there was we'd quit breeding

I believe you feel the YTCA is closed mined because they are not in agreement with what is being done with the Parti......

Not exactly but partly.

I'm sure when they have larger numbers of people all on the same page, it will be given serious consideration. Who are they going to help at this point? A handful of people working towards individual goals? Plus, Mary already mentioned that they are working w/ genetic specialist to research the parti further. So sounds like they ARE addressing them...

Thank you for the Kudos, The Biewers are very important to me as the Yorkies are to the serious show breeders of the Yorkshire Terrier.Or any other purebred breed for that matter.
We have worked diligently to keep the breed seperate, so that it could stand on its own merits.
We breed exclusivley Biewer to Biewer Only.And that is also a strict rule in the Breed Club that I belong to the BBCI.
The YTCA has a very strict mandate and has worked hard to keep the "fault" colored yorkies out of the ring. I do know that the AKC will not accept a variation of a breed already in existence.
And certainly not without the Breed Clubs blessings (YTCA).
So I can see your dilemma.
Personally, I did so much research on the Biewers before getting involved with the breed, and then...worked very hard to have the breed accepted to be shown in Canada . Long before I purchased my first beautiful Biewers,I did not want to get involved with a breed that I could not show.

You're right Bama....YTCA is not concerned if the Parti is developed as it's own seperate breed....too much emphasis is being made that YTCA is hindering the Parti breeders....bottom line is they want to keep the Yorkshire Terrier Standard as it stands...as someone else said it's in our bylaws, code of ethics and conduct....would one expect anything less.

The YTCA is only supportive of the Biewers if the Biewers "are" a separate breed and not an anomaly colorwise from the Yorkies.

As a YTCA member I know that statement is not true. They nothing against any one establishing a new breed...there would be no reason to.

No you misunderstood what I was try to say. We have been told if we drop the Yorkie from Biewer Yorkie Terrier, and call them Biewers or Biewer Terrier, YTCA would support Biewers as a separate breed.

So long as we are voting, I vote we change it to "Beaver" because that's what it sounds like anytime I try to say it and it is more fun to watch people's face when they ask, "What kind of dog is that?" and you say, "Oh, it's a Beaver."
