Well, you're right about the abuses, but also right that there are laws here, too. The first 3 things you mention are everyday practices, but the others are what you might call 'glitches' or whatever, though those things happen every day, too. With the Chinese, it's a way of doing things...period.

I liken these inhumane practices to pornography. By that I mean that there are different levels. You have Playboy all the way up to Hustler. Then you have the really sick, sick stuff. China is the really sick, sick stuff.

And no, I'm not a fan of dirty pics, in case anyone is wondering . I just think it's a valid comparison. I do agree about factory farms (who wouldn't) but it's hard to change things in an economy where people look for 'cheap' first and ask questions later.

omg i can't believe what i just saw....the image of the poor dog being toss to the side after being skinned alive still haunts me...i signed the petition and also am passing the word around. i feel really sick to my stomach right now. and i can't shake the feeling....evil and cruel acts like these will be punish with karma.

I forced myself to watch and OMG... that is all I can really say. It was one of the worst things I've ever seen. When they show them skinning those poor pups alive... just...

I think it's easier to get upset at the things that happen in China because it doesn't require that we change - just that we educate people. Things very similar happen in the US daily, but what is needed is for people to stop buying these products (meat, dairy, eggs, leather) and instead buy from more humane farms. Doesn't usually happen though.

I agree. I'm slowly becoming vegan. Unfortunately, it is very expensive (on a graduate student stipend) and time consuming. Personally, I think I will be happier knowing that I do not eat anything, or put anything on my face that hurts another animal...however that is extremely difficult (there's even cow bone in our tires!)

I'm one of those people that can't even go to a petting zoo and enjoy it...I don't know why but it just saddens me.

I kno what you mean. We went with my niece last year on her field trip to the zoo and all I could do was feel sorry for the animals.

When u sign the petition, there's some 'racist' remarks from some individuals & I think that's wrong. It's not about race but the ignorance & cruelty...this inhumane act has to be stopped. It is out of this world incomprehensible torture.

We don't skin animals alive here. We don't beat animals to death because it'll make them taste better. We have slaughter and transport standards, we have facilities designed to make animals more comfortable even up to the point of their demise. His eyes still open, skinless, still can see his throat breathing. Watching live dogs being thrown in an incinerator. Bags full of dogs, as if they were stuffed animals.

Just your description makes me ill. I could not watch it. I don't understand how anyone can torture anything.

I will say some footage from our own slaughterhouses makes me ill as well.

I didnt watch the video but the best thing you can do is stop supporting China. It is hard because almost everything is made in China but do your best not to buy their products. Countries like China wont learn untill they are hit in the pocket book then they will change
