We don't skin animals alive here. We don't beat animals to death because it'll make them taste better. We have slaughter and transport standards, we have facilities designed to make animals more comfortable even up to the point of their demise. We are certainly not perfect and I think a LOT needs to be done here, too, as I am sure not EVERY facility follows these rules. But I think, in general, we are a *bit* more humane than this video. But... just dreadful. I cannot get the image out of my mind of that dog, completely alive, having his skin ripped off him as if they were simply tearing off a band-aid. His eyes still open, skinless, still can see his throat breathing. Watching live dogs being thrown in an incinerator. Bags full of dogs, as if they were stuffed animals. |
Just your description makes me ill. I could not watch it. I don't understand how anyone can torture anything.
I will say some footage from our own slaughterhouses makes me ill as well.
How can we stop this kind of thing?
