I feel my Yorkie Canidae All Life Stages as well. He loves it! I used to give him Science Diet, but it didn't seem like he enjoyed it. When I switched to Canidae, he gained A LOT of weight... He loves it!

I'm from Taiwan, too. Some people said Avocado is bad, but I don't know if that's true. How can they sell poison dog food in petsmart? I will ask my vet tomorrow and hear his opinion. By the way~~ I've heard solid gold dry food is very good for dry/flaky skin.

you're from TW!?! cool where abouts? i'm in hsinchu. but yes! I just found out that avocadoes are quite bad for animals ... but its controversial whether or not its just the plant or the fruit, or both. I actually posted a thread in the health/dite forum about the info I found about avocados.

I have no idea if they sell solid gold or innova in Taiwan. Even in US, they don't sell those 2 brands in petsmart and petsco. I've seen solid gold dog food in the organic supermarket called Wild Oats. I hope you guys have that in CA. Solid Golds famous product in TW is "Seameal Powder". I believe they sell it in yahoo.tw auction.

About that Avoderm dog food, I emailed to Avoderm company to ask them why they put avocados in dog food since it is bad for animals. Below is a email they reply me today. They explain that there're some many different kinds of avocados. The one they put in their dog food doesn't contain "persin" which is toxic.

After reading this email, I feel OK to keep feeding my dogs Avoderm. Avoderm truly changes my yorkie's skin from dry/flaky to normal skin. My yorkie has less scratchs since I feed him Avoderm. By the way~ I've heard that Eukanuba made a new dog food just for yorkshire terrier. I might buy a bag and try it. I have 2 yorkies and 3 toy poodles. I've tried so many different brands of dog food. Every brand has its pro and con. A brand of dog food is good for one dog doesn't mean it is good for the other dog. Finding your dog a proper food is very important, but it is not easy.

has anyone heard of eukanuba? i heard about it from a friend and was wondering....the breeder i bought my gus from was feeding them iams puppy....i've heard negative things about it.....i'm VERY SUPER new to being a yorkie owner, so any advice would be awesome!!! thank you!

we're on Royal Canin too. Tried Canidae and mine won't eat it and my vet doesn't recommend it - something about not meeting certain requirements, but I really can't remember why.

we're on Royal Canin Yorkshire Terrier He loves it and the Breeder started him on that Our Vet says its also good for him he hasn't had any skin problems and he has a nice coat.

I feed my dog Canidae All Life Stages. He loves eating Canidae. He even cries for Canidae while I pour the dog food in his bowl. I might switch to Solid Gold beacause I can buy it at Petco. I have to drive a longer distance to buy Canidae.

One of mine couldn't eat the RC YT...gave them an upset stomach and runny stools. Mine actually get a mixture of 4 different commerical brands, home cooked food and supplements. But each dog is different and what works for one won't necessarily work for the next.

While dogfoodanalysis.com has alot of useful information, it is based completely on the opinions of the site editors, not long term, professional research. So don't let researching for a good food stop and end there. Another site to try is: Dog Food Review Ratings

Chelsea seen to like it, I had DaisiMae on Royal Canin, but changing it slowly, I don't like the ingredients in it.

I feed Suzi an Organic dry kibble, By NATURE . It is high quality, and she eats it well. So far I have had no problems with her eating this food!
