Dogfood - The yorkie food? 1 Attachment(s) Hi, I was wondering what kind og dogfood you feed your Yorkies? I am using Royal Canin Yorkshire Terrier and am very happy with that. Is that a popular brand in the USA? If you use it, how do you like it? Do you prefer some other brand? I also feed my little mix (Leon) the Yorkie food too and he likes it. I buy the food in 7,5kg (16.5lb) packaging, it is also available in 1,5kg (3.3lb) packaging but no size in between is available in Iceland. Can you buy a bag that is in between, like around 3 or 4kg (6.6 - 8.8lb)? |
Btw. how do I make the link on, for ex. the word Yorkshire Terrier, in my earlier post go away, I did not put the link on the word, it just came. In an earlier post I tried to take the tick out of "Automatically parse links in text" option below when I was sending the post, the post then didn´t work, the message did´t go on the forum until hours later. I am not even sure what "Automatically parse links in text" means :embarasse I am going to try now, to see if I can send this post witout ticking "Automatically parse links in text" The link still comes :/ |
I feed Canidae Lamb & Rice All Life Stages. All Natural Try this link to find a better quality food for your FurBaby: http://www.dogfoodanalysis.com/dog_f...iews/index.php The Yorkie in your Avatar has a beautiful long coat! |
I feed Candiae as well. I used to feed Royal Canine, but one of the main ingredients is corn (or maybe some other grain, I can't remember) and it made my Britney itch a lot. After I changed, she really stopped. |
it doesnt have corn you will see a lot of people on here use it. i have tried skoshi on tons of healthier dog foods and he will eat them the first time and then the next day doesnt want them. i have tried honest kitchen, Fromm, but he wont eat them now. |

I switched Roxie from Royal Canin to Canidae All Life Stages and she loves it! |
I have never seen my Yorkies love a food like Canidae!!! I have one that is a very picky eater & doesn't eat very much. He has actually gained a few ozs since on Canidae - which he needed. |
Canidae All Life Stages Canidae All Life Stages |
I feed kikko Innova and he looooves its! and so do my parents dog who likes to go into kikko's playpen and steal a meal! lol. but its great food, made of all human grade meat. i really couldn't decide between innova and candidae at first, i know both are good foods |
Royal Canin food helps growing beautiful hair, but dries my baby's skin. I feed Royal Canin to 3 of my yorkies before. Their hair grows long and beautiful, but I also found they have flaky skin since I start to use Royal Canin. One of my yorkies has really bad flaky skin, so I stop feeding him Royal Canin. I use Avoderm instead. After feeding him Avoderm, less than 5 days, I found it truly improved that. About 1 week or so, his flaky skin is gone. I also found his hair becomes softer. I was amazed how effective Avoderm dog food is. :D If anyone's yorkie has flaky/dry skin, try Avoderm. You can see the result very soon. |

recently i've used missing link and its helped a lot too .. but this avoderm sounds interesting .... |
Switched to Canidae My Alyssa and Emily Kate were both eating Royal Canin Yorkshire food. They both seemed to love it and ate it well. Alyssa had a lot of allergies and scratched a lot. I read about Canide All Life Stages on YT and soon went on a search to find it. I discovered that several stores in my area carried it. I bought a bag ...hoping....but not really expecting the dogs to like it. They fought over it. Both loved the taste. I switched "cold turkey" and did not try to mix and ease into the new food. Within a week Alyssa's fur imporved. She had a shine to her fur and her energy level was like that of a much younger puppy. It has been 4 months now and I am still very pleased. I find it hard to believe what a change of food has done for my girls. I am sorry that I did not make the switch sooner. |
Diesel has been on INNOVA for the longest time and does really well on it. :) |
Royal Canin works for us! 1 Attachment(s) :D Shelby & Seymour have been eating Royal Canin since we have had them. I have gotten some samples of Canidae that I have occasionally given them for "variety", but only a small amount at a time. I really think RC has helped with their coats. Attachment 129995 We wish all YT'ers a nice Independence Day! |
