| Car seat question How effective are pet car seats like Snoozer and Pet Gear in keeping a doggy in his seat? Is the tether designed to hold dogs that would rather be running around the car? Booster seat from Pet Gear: http://www.petco.com/product/106354/...-Car-Seat.aspx |

| well, i think they are more effective than doing nothing. But in my opinion- what is safest is in a crate buckled in. I think they can still get hurt in an accident when in one of the car seats. |

| The Snoozers are very comfortable and since they are tethered and cannot roam, usually they will lie down and get settled in. The added benefit is they are higher up and can see out the windows even while reclining. They do provide a great measure of safety. Crates can be dangerous even if buckled into a seat belt as the pup will be thrown inside the crate if in an accident. If the crate isn't buckled in, then the crate risks becoming a flying object (a double whammy to your pup inside).

i have just a harness strap that hooks to the seatbelt, and then to his harness. i just didn't want him to wander around the car. i would like to raise him up just a tad, so he can see out better. i'll keep looking around for another booster.

Amazon sells different sizes, just move over the size options with your mouse and it'll show you the larger options. I will be purchasing the medium size for my two yorkies.

I don't care what anyone else does but I don't think it is fair to say a dog in a crate buckled in is dangerous.

| I can say that I love our snoozer car seat. Yes, there can be a chance of anything happening whether they are in a crate or carseat. I've jammed on my breaks and the dogs have been thrown slightly forward but were tethered so they were okay. I like the carseat because, for us, it helped with the car sickness issue. Hot Rod usually will lay down and settle in. Maggie is still very excitable in the seat and stands up and looks around. I guess it is a lot of personal preference. When I used to transport my cats in a crate, I would seat belt the carrier in and I was comfortable with that.

| I have the Solvit Deluxe Pet Booster Seat from Amazon.com. Prince is able to see out the window and I believe it helped with his car sickness. He's tethered so that keeps him out of my lap while I'm driving. When someone is riding in the passenger seat I turn the booster seat around so he's facing backward. The only problem is that he believes the front seat is his so when someone is sitting in the passenger seat he whines. Spoiled puppy! http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/att...112568&postid= |

| Thank you everyone for the feedback. Mom to Hot Rod: You wrote that Maggie moves around in the Snoozer. I know Max will squirm and work hard to escape -- my primary concern is that the tether will end up wrapped around his neck. Is that possible? I suppose I need to find a store where I can see one of these seats in person. I currently have a wire crate in my back seat and I have tried a soft crate. Max hates both, despite having a comfy bed and a great view out the window. He seems excited about going in the car, then he acts panicked the entire time we are driving. |

| I love these car seats...well my furbabies do: user721_pic8923_1257738827.jpguser721_pic8924_1257738827.jpgTurbo & Princess will lounge, occasionally look out if there's somethng interesting to see. IMG_1209.jpgIMG_1210.jpgMimi loves looking out the window. I do have to be very careful when driving, like not pushing on the brakes suddenly, or accelerating fast. It's really neat how they get used to it, Mimi will move around when I'm making a turn...she's very good at keeping her balance, she loves it! I got the large one. I forgot to add that I use harnesses on mine, so no worries about them being choked.

| How am I suppose to concentrate on choosing a car seat when your little sweeties look so darn cute and Mimi's fabulous coat texture/color are distracting me? I think I will try the Snoozer. |
