| I also wanted to add that Nature's Logic uses co-packers. They do not have their own manufacturing facilities. That also might be important to some people.

Each pet owner gets to decide if AAFCO approval is important or not. ...but keep in mind that they are the closest thing we have to an organization that provides uniformity and some assurance that products do not contain severe nutrient excesses and deficiencies. Bottom line for me is...as sucky as the pet food industry is I would defer to AAFCO sooner than a cattle farmer with no credentials of any kind. NL will have to do feeding trials on most or all of their foods because the nutrient profile analysis fails AAFCO. It looks like they are doing this which is great. I definitely like the feeding trials. But...in my mind trials do not maje up for their nutrient profiles (ca: p in particular). And some of their foods are up near the phos maximum (one does not even meet the established ca: p ratio parameters). Not a good thing for Yorkies, imo. But there is no way of knowing for sure. The farmer may have it right. Honestly, if you trust the company then it is all about feeding the food to see how it goes.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Right, that's what I'm feeding. They are in the process of testing their other foods. My initial question was about the "size" of the kibble.

| Oh yes, I see now that you asked about the size of the kibble. But, when I noticed you were switching Joey over from a food that he has done so well on for years and he's picture perfect health, I couldn't help but take a look. I hope he does well on the new food.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I think I'm now trusting AAFCO about on the same level as I trust the FDA, the USDA, etc. lol. That's where I'm at with them...right up there with Big Ag...and on and on.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Yes, that does concern me. That's one of the reasons I use RC, I do think a company can have more control, but from my understanding so far, it sounds like they have been very careful in choosing their facilities, the facility for their raw food is also used for human meat. The truth of the matter, is I no longer trust Royal Canin. They should have at the very least informed me of the changes. Do you honestly believe the new food is as good as the old?

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Here's an interesting interview w/ NL - he talks about the manufacturing process and how they handle the quality control etcetera: Answers from Nature’s Logic Pet Food | Truth about Pet Food
