| Please be cautious this summer Two weeks ago we had a flower/plant ingestion incident (dried parts missed while sweeping) leading to severe vomiting (which is good because otherwise we would have had cyanide poisoning). Hydrangeas are, in fact, toxic! Today we have a severe allergic reaction to..something. It was likely a bug...in the house. My girl has been going absolutely crazy scratching and trying to run from the itch since midnight. She is also vomiting. Benadryl injection only gave good relief for about an hour. The steroid is helping now...somewhat. And she was already on oral steroids for her back. Whatever it is, it is very severe. This comes almost exactly two years after we almost lost her over a different type of reaction to a bug. Please, please, please be careful. Always have Benadryl on hand with dosage along woth dorections to the ER. Check on your pups constantly.

| Poor Ellie May! Praying she recovers quickly. Very scary when you don't know what it was. Teddy had a big lump on his back last year that I'm convinced was a spider bite. The vet put him on a steroid and a topical spray. Took about a month for the lump to go away. A friend's Yorkie girl was stung by 2 - 3 yellow jackets last week. She had Benadryl the first day and appeared to be fine, but then was having leg spasms and severe itchiness. The vet advised continuing the Benadryl and the spasms stopped. I want the injectable Benadryl to carry with us. In the meantime, I'll take our liquid to the park with us.

| So sorry that your girl is ill. I hope that tomarrow you will have a better feeling baby. On vacation Tilly chomped a wasp, without getting stung and about 5hrs later Kenzie chomped a stink bug, didnt swallow. We were in the middle of nowhere in the trailer. I keep a large firstaid kit for the pups when we are out of town. |

| We have had 3 incidents of swarms of bees covering dogs and a pony and stinging them to death....one was a small pony, one was 3 dogs in owners back yord....big dogs....and the third was a medium size dog. These were NOT killer bees, according to the experts that ran tests on these swarms....so please watch your animals with these bees swarming at this time of year, establishing new hives. |

| A few weeks ago three dogs were killed by bee stings not far from where I live. The bees were going to be taken to TAMU to see if they were the African killer bees. I don't think anything could have saved these dogs as they were completely swarmed by the bees. Since then we have been paying more attention to the areas of the yard where Buster and Maggie like to play. Yes, be careful, you never know what is out there.

| Great now add bees to my list of concerns. We see a lot of red wasp. I always worry they will get one of my girls.

YT Addict | So sorry about your baby. I have been checking my yard where Gigi goes, because last week I stopped in the front yard and grabbed a few weeds... In the weeds was a nest of fire ants. Needless to say my hand had about 12-14 ant bites.... What a mess.
