| Momo lost his dewclaw... It's 10:35pm here & I think we can wait til tomorrow morning to go to the vet. He kept licking his paw & I checked it & it was bleeding. He lost his whole dewclaw. I cleaned it w/hydrogen peroxide & put Clotisol on it to stop the bleeding & he screamed in pain. Was I not supposed to put that on? I thought it would be better than styptic powder. I know he's in pain, so I gave him some torb-val. He's all bandaged up & sleeping now. I'll be taking him to the vet tomorrow. It's nothing serious, but please say a little prayer for my little guy please...& for him not to get into any more trouble. I almost fainted when I saw all that blood... It's a good thing we have one of Bo's softee collars...I got it 'just in case' & whadya know.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Ouch....poor baby! You're taking good care of him though, Jenny. I would imagine anything you put on that to stop bleeding would sting even styptic powder. Hugs from us Momo, hope you're all better soon!

| Oh my gosh, I know how you feel. My Maddy lost his nail on Sunday. There was so much blood! Poor little guy, I felt so bad. He was hurting for maybe a day or so, but he's back to his normal self now. When I took him to the vet, he told me to put styptic powder on it to control the bleeding and put a bootie over it to protect it. I bought him a little pair of booties, but they sucked(he wouldn't keep them on), so I bought a pair of baby socks(newborn) and taped it on. It kept his foot clean and dry, and he didn't seem to mind it. |

| You can also use flour to stop bleeding, and it doesn't hurt. Just pack it around the nail and apply light pressure till the bleeding stops. Prayers to your little guy...

| Oh no! I worry about that with Gizmo. When he was a pup, the vet must have missed one of his dewclaws and I always worry about it. Give him gentle hugs from us.

| Update We got back from the vet not too long ago. They cleaned out the wound & gave him an injection of anti-biotics & Rimadyl for the pain. Our vet said the whole nail came off & it looks like it will grow back, but weird. Later on, we have to see if he needs to have surgery to take the bone out or not, depending on how the nail grows. Momo is on my lap knocked out. I gave him some more torb-val for the pain. Doc said to give it to him til tomorrow. They put a neon green bandage on him...looks like he's wearing little booties. IMG_2477.JPG Hi eberybowdy...Tank Yew for pwaying for me & gibbing me well wish bones. We gonna go back tomorrow to take da shoe off. Den I can wun & pway wif my buddies but my mommy says I hab to be weal careful. Kekee wuv yew! Momo
