Default Best way to lose weight!!

Compete with your husband!! LOL My husband and I have been on a diet together. Not really starting off with it being a competition but well...he started it! LOL He started losing a bit more than me and teasing me about it, so I really got dedicated and this morning we weighed ourselves and I am down 10 pounds!! HE'S ONLY DOWN 9! Hahahahaha! I can't believe what just 10 pounds will do for your figure. I can see the difference in both of us. We both have a ways to go before we are at our goals of course, but just wanted to share our news. I hope we can stick to this, my husband has some pretty sever health issues that have popped up from being overweight and well I have 2 pregnancies to still work off.

My husband does a #2 and drops 5pounds makes me sick I smell a dougnut and gain 5pounds

LOLOL !! GOOD For you guys ! I'd love to hear how it goes Jodi....I'm having such a time losing - I have to diet while I watch my husband eat anything he wants and it sucks !!

Though for me - the best incentive is looking at PICTURES of myself - and while I never let anyone take pictures now - my family sneaks in some shots at dinners....that always does the trick.

This has always been our problem too. Both of us have gone on diets at times when the other didn't want to and it's just soooo hard that way. We went on a diet together about 5 years ago and lost a lot of weight together. I hope we can do it again. It's just too hard to do it alone. Good luck with your diet. What are you doing?
We are doing atkins and he is walking every chance he gets and I have started exercising on my elliptical. I really like that machine...well I like it as much as you can like exercising, which I really don't LOL

I'm doing the NO Exercising...no yummy food....no cheating diet and it's taken me THREE months to lose 15....I did do the Nutrisystem and lost it that way but now am on my own....I want to lose 10 more....but am ok with maybe 5.

It's hell when you have no hormones left - mine are SO wacked that it's really really hard to lose. My advise to you is - do this while you're young - the older you get the harder and more depressing it is to diet.

my excuse for not using my treadmill is there is NO TV IN THERE ! I need one so bad and I think I'd use the treadmill if I had one

Jodie, what helpsl me is to be foced and live that healthy lifestle permanently rather than fad diets. eat healthy, lots of fish and chicken and veggies and avoid too much junk food. Also, I used to measure out what I eat size wise until eventually you can eyeball it. You'll be amazed at how much this helps when you proportion everything. Moderation is key in my life. This way, you can have fun and eat what you like (an occasional steak or burger) and allow yourself to 'cheat' on weekends.

Well I would be that way too without the tv. And right now I am embarassed to have people over because I have my elliptical in our small front room taking up so much space. But I don't care. I won't do it when it's in another room either, I tried that. Out of site, OUT OF MIND. LOL I actually don't care for the treadmill because it's seems too much impact for me. I hate my boobs and belly bouncing around and my knees just can't handle it either.

Thank you! I understand this. But Atkins is basically the diet my husband's doctor put him on, so it's what I'm doing too. He was born with sugar problems and now that he is overweight he has diabetes and everything that goes with it. I plan to lose the weight and then switch to healthier eating in a few months. I can't continue on Atkins forever because I actually hate meat. LOL

wow.. good job girls.... Any tips for me? I have the atkins book and the dr. phil book too... justdon't know which to pick, plus I hate seafood so that really narrows my choices....lol.... I would like to lose 40 lbs but will settle for 20-25 lbs..lol...

Good for you Jodi!!! Keep up the great work.

It's awesome to diet together and you'll keep each other motivated.

If you need any ideas for healthy treats, let me know. I have competed in figure/fitness competitions and know a lot of dieting, good treats, etc.

LOL !! That is EXACTLY Why I'm crazy ! Remember that saying I'm out of Estrogen and have a gun ??? Welll....All I got is a headache 24/7 ....

but Jodi is right - AMAZING WHAT 10 lbs gone will do for you...I won't let anyone take my picture unless I HAVE to ..but yay - - 15 lbs GONE !

I've got a picture stuck on my fridge (when I was at my thinnest...actually tooooo thin) with my daughter... I keep it there as a reminder not to eat...well, I put a magnet over it so I don't feel guilty about opening the fridge!!LOL I have lost about 9 lbs but coming off slow...

Men tend to drop weight quickly...
