| I think your friend is a little off her rocker. My dad and children have gotten the flu shot every year for as long as I can remember. My Hubby and I haven't b/c sometimes there's a shortage and we can't but the children and elderly are first to get it.

| I had a co-worker that thought the Gov't was tracking us through the fillings in our teeth too! I think people have strong feelings one way or another regarding vaccines! Personally, I feel there are risks in getting them and obviously risks in not getting them! I had a horrible, horrible case of the flu about 14 years ago and ended up in the hospital. I thought I was going to die, it was awful! I do choose to get the flu shot. I won't be getting the H1N1 vaccine this year however, I'm not in the high risk category and I do feel it's too new. I think people should educate themselves on the pros and cons of all vaccines they are considering. They should talk with medical professionals and make an informed decision on what is best for them!

| Here is an excellent read on the whole "immunity" given by our lawmakers to the big Pharmo's producing the H1N1. Not only that, but explain to me please, how did Baxter Pharmacology apply for a patent of the H1N1 virus in August 2007, when the first diagnosed case was not until April 2009? Current Concerns |

| I usually try to hold myself back from buying into conspiracy theories. Although I don't believe for a minute the government is trying to thin the population, I do have some serious qualms about some of the things I have read about Baxter, the H1N1 vaccine and pandemic timing, and the recent immunity given to vaccine manufacturers for any lawsuits arising from deaths or ill effects of vaccines that are being rushed to the public without the normal testing. (Here is one of many istes with the same sort of questions: http://ahrcanum.wordpress.com/2009/0...e-patent-h1n1/) Back in the 1970's when I was in the Navy we were used as test subject for a Swine Flu vaccine. They mistakenly gave a bunch of us both the Swine Flue A and B versions at the same time, one in each arm. Several of us wound up in the hospital in the middle of the night with what seemed to be a VERY bad case of the flu -- an event they now say is impossible. I have avoided the flu shots like the plaque ever since and will skip the H1N1 if there winds up being enough for everyone anyway. I don't know enough to have a firm opinion about the vaccine being patented before the pandemic and the possibility of Baxter being responsible for the pandemic itself or the safety of a virtually untested vaccine, but there are too many questions in my mind! I want to beleive the government agencies responsible are on top of safety issues and have thoroughly researched the timing question......but too often I have gotten egg on my face for blind support of government. So, I will just stay unconvinced either way, for now.

Per your articles: " there are many opportunities for animals to be infected by several strains of pathogens, leading to increased chance for a strain to emerge that can infect and spread in humans."[37] "The fact that one of the first confirmed human cases of swine flu appeared in close proximity to the largest pig factory in Mexico, which slaughters nearly a million pigs a year" " The flu strains circulating since 1998" as you state, are strains affecting pigs, not humans. Yes, the triple hybrid is a combination of human, swine and bird viral agents, that has its "host range" in pigs. Yes, there are such commonalities in physiology between pigs and humans that infectious agents in them cause researchers to be diligent. However, per your article and mine, the first documented mutational species-jump of this particular strain to humans was not until 2009. In order to not only actualize a vaccine, but to patent it you must have the genomes of several species-related infectious agents. You cannot just evaluate viral pig agents to make a human vaccine, the microbiology of the event is not that elementary. So my query as to how they not only patented, but created their vaccine in 2007, two full years before the first documented Human case of this strain; is valid. Where did the human species infectious agents appear from? As for the 1918 pandemic; yes people died. Would it have helped if they had a Quality produced vaccine with no mercury, formaldehyde, squalene, and preservatives in it? Yes I think most definitely. However, vaccines being produced in this time are currently carrying not only these but adjuvants that magnify the potency of the vaccine, ten-fold. The effects of this on our immune-system have been documented by numerous physicians and medical universities. Am I against vaccines as a whole? No. However , when they include these additives, and especially when the makers of them have been given Full Immunity from any legal action in consideration of medical malpractice, oh hell ya, I'm against them!

| There were no antibiotics in 1918. Most deaths were due to complications of the flu (i.e., pneumonia), which we now have antibiotics for.

Excellent post. Thank you for sharing your story. Being in the medical arena, I have seen and read too many stories like yours. I find myself wanting to believe as you, that agencies are responsible. However, far too often I have been disappointed. So.........I stand here questioning

" Keep in mind- Just 50 miles from the H1N1 ground zero outbreak in Mexico City, lies Baxter’s manufacturing plant in Cuernavaca, Mexico. " Baxter Pharmaceutical Plant in Mexico- Ground Zero for Flu Outbreak Ahrcanum "ahR-Kah-noom" > secret secrets Baxter Vaccine Patent for H1N1, Two Years Before Pandemic Ahrcanum "ahR-Kah-noom" > secret secrets And I said I was not going to go for a conspiracy theory ...... it is hard not to have questions though. I guess it is all those movies about some drug company letting a virus get out and then trying to keep it all hush-hush as the star of the show has to not only fight the virus/flesh eating bacteria/humanoid or cannibal-transforming formula .... but also prove the drug company or the goverment official is to blame.

| I don't believe it's a government conspiracy at all. We are all free to make our choice whether we want it or not and that pertains to our children also. I always get my flu shot. The only time I didn't ,I got the flu and was miserable for weeks . I had me 3 kids and my husband to take care of. I almost stuck my husband's "Calling Bell" up where the sun don't shine It's terrible to have the flu and have to take care of others. I would rather take any vaccination risk associated with the flu shot then not get it. Everything has risks to it, it's our choice whether to do it or not.. JMO |

| my house is divided on the subject. I get the flu shot. I worked in a hospital and I know that the vaccine covers something like 15 strains and I could get strain 16, but I won't get it as bad. I've had a bad flu and thought I was going to die. Missed a week of work. I won't get the swine flu shot however, I think one flu shot it enough. In 1972, my grandma got the flu, then pneumonia and died. My DH refuses to get the flu shot. He doesn't get sick, and hasn't had the flu. Donna
