No I was not around in the 50's, and no, I did not see my childhood friends die of that. However, I have seen death up close and personal on too many occasions. As for our health care system being strained, I think that it is beyond strained, it is limping to its death. Or the parents of disabled children whose insurance payments are so exorbitant that they must decide between health payments or necessities like food, that is if they can even get private insurance.
As for vaccinations; is the principle behind them a valid one? Yes, however, do not believe for one moment that the conglomerate pharmaceutical companies are not making a mint on them; and if you cannot believe me, believe the CDC when they say that there are chemicals included that could effect your future health.
Now whether that is an acceptable trade off for quality health now, is only a query that can be answered by you.
