| Help! horrible experience with seller/breeder I was looking for a yorkie last week and saw an ad online, so I gave the seller a call. She told me she got 2 brother yorkies available and she is local. Since I want the first pick I went to see them that night since she said she a another family is scheduled to see the yorkies the next morning. I was expecting to meet at her house or something but she wants to meet in front of a retail store. It kinda bother me already but I thought she sounded very nice and sincere. So, I brought my family along and expecting to see both puppies. She only brought one out, thought that i only want to see the small one. But I told her I want to pick over the phone before the other family. The puppy was cute, but missing most hair on its tail and feet. So i asked her why is there no hair on the tail and anything wrong with the puppy? She proudly says no, nothing at all. He is very healthy and the hair will grow back. So I took her word for it and thought it the hairloss was normal since I never owned one before. So i purchased it and told my friend about it. She wanted one to give to her friend as a present so I went back and picked up the other one. When I brought his brother home, then I start to realized that mine doesnt seem right. Mine has no hair compared to his brother and they don't even look alike. So i complained to her about that and she said she is selling for a friend and she doesnt know what is wrong with the puppy. Then she told me that they are not brothers and that's why they are different. I was upset so I told her I want my money back and she said she was sad that she has ab unsatisfied customer and said she will not take her pup back once he leaves her hand and suggested to credit me half the price i paid for it. She told me to email her a line stating that I will accept the credit b/c of the hairloss and also my address where I want the check to mail to. I did what i was told. and today she send me back an email saying that unless that there provened by the vet that there is internal health problem with the pup and not cosmetic problem, I will not get the partial refund. She called me after a few email exchanges, she told me that even if we go to court, I will not get my money back. I told her she decieved me and she is the one who insist on the partial refund and now she backed out on her words. She went crazy and yellled something at me and hung up. I left her a msg and she called back, telling me to stop calling her or she will call the cops. Meanwhile, I brought the pup to the vet and vet doesn't know what is wrong with his hair loss and requested to get a poop test for further findings. I am very angry right now and felt that i was being lied to. Any suggestions of what I should do? |

| I am sorry for this. It seems sorda weird especially the way she is acting. I don't think that any normal breeder should act like this, especially if they cared about there puppies. I don't know if they police can do anything about this??? Have you tried calling, because she lied to you.... |

| pup I recall your previous post...did the vet do a skin scraping for demodex mange? You need to get to the bottom of the problem..and check your counties laws for breeders selling puppies..many areas are quite strict..best wishes |

| Sorry you were treated like that, but you really have to be wear of sellers. I was almost taken over the coals with Penny, but after reading everything I could I realized what was going on. This woman too insisted she meet me at a public place, as she didn't want anyone coming to her house stealing her pups. Ok, I agreed, but she too only showed up with one pup. Penny was gorgeous, and I wanted her. I told the lady I have the cash in hand, you can see it, you know I'm serious now I want to go the mother, father, and siblings. After much ado she finally agreed. I was pleasantly surprised when I got there, and guess she was telling the truth about not wanting a lot of people knowing where she kept her pups, but that's one honest person out of how many cons. I really hope everything turns out okay with your pup. Please keep us posted, and send some pictures.

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | She sounds horrible - you should have stopped at your misgivings and never bought the dog if you had doubts - but that's done and over and now you just need to decide how far to take this. I'd def report her to the BBB - the hair just may grow in and you could end up with a cute puppy - the vets can do further testing to find out if it's medical If you've already bonded then I'd wait and see what happens - but Still report her for bad business practices - you didn't say a time frame and some breeders (Especially ethical breeders) WILL take back a puppy but it sounds like she could care less that you're unhappy. good luck - you should post about her in the BREEDER REVIEW section here on the site - complete with her website and tell your story there too -

Donating YT 2000 Club Member | Sorry, for the bad experience. Did you get anything in writing? Are you in CA? There are some very strict puppy lemon laws? Did she give you any paperwork at all? How long before you wanted to return the puppy--how many days?? |

| This link talks about the laws on selling a pup and what your recourse may be if it's ill...your only recourse may be small claims court for medical bills if you have any....Good Luck, http://www.animallaw.info/articles/dduspetsales.htm http://www.animallaw.info/articles/o...ysaletable.htm

| Just like she threatned to call the cops on you, I would've filed the complaint first just to show that it came to that point of no assistance. I would also let her know that you are going to file a complaint against her. I wish we could see pictures of the little pups. But now that you have the puppy, please do what you can to take care of it. I drove to my breeders home 2 hours there and 2 hours back to see the parents and the puppy. I hate you have to go thru this as I can only imagine the frustration. Do not let her bluff you and make sure you continue to follow thru so she won't do this to anyone else.

BANNED! | What she is doing to you is unfair and she needs to stand behind the puppy she sold you. I would surely get the puppy checked for Demodex mange right away. She was not honest with you and you have every right to be angry. |

YT Addict | I sent you a PM, but like I said, I will be living in Oakland as well, and my mother works for the Oakland Police Department. I can have her ask people from animal control department, and hopefully people from the DA's office to see if there is a way to get your money back. Please let me know, if you need any help. Ashley

| I would report her to the BBB, and I would also post in the breeder review section in this forum. Post the name of the breeder and tell your story. Did she give you any kind of contract or anything at all in writing?

| Hello Wasabe: I am so glad that you were willing to come forward and share your experience, I had something similar happen to me, and I am about to take action with the CKC. The breeder that I received my pup from will have a second infraction within a two year period. It is so bloody unfair that these sellers, do not give dam about the very dog that they sell. I think that this website has been great naming and shaming them for the parasites that they are. As for me, once I receive the infraction notice from the CKC, I will be sending out the notice on a global level. I find it really hard paying for such an expensive pet, then having to turn around and but out additional money for medical expenses. aarnold808: Thank you for coming forward and offering your assistance, please tell your family relations, to throw the book at the seller. Karma always has a funny way of coming back to you, when you least expect it. Tulip Last edited by Tulip; 07-26-2007 at 02:13 PM. |

| A pic of my puppy... Thanks for the support. As you can see, he is a cute lil boy with missing hair on his legs, snoring away... Well, I just realized that she is maltese breeder and a yorkie broker, claiming selling the yorkies for her "friend". Anyway, I emailed her 2 times today and no response, not surprisingly. |
