I signed a paper that gives 48 hours guarantee. But thank you all for the suggestions, I will look into some of them.

get the fecal sample to your vet and see where it goes from there. if it is internal, take that b**** to court

did you get a contract ... i will tell you a little thing i do when selling a puppy i google the person the name the phone number the call me from so many people will lie but the amount of adds they have under there phone number selling multi breeds of litters ..never lie. bhhheah insist ur vet does a skin scraping dont waste time

Yes, I got a copy of the contract. Sorry, forgot to mentioned that the 2nd vet i went to already did a skin scrape and found nothing.

I dont know if this was already stated but California has a puppy lemon law... she has to refund your money if he is sick. Did they check him for ring worm because that causes hairloss in patches?

Ouch! The feet do look very weird without the hair! I hope the hair will eventually grow. Can't see the tail in the picture. I am so sorry to hear what had happened to you. Best luck dealing with this worst breeder ever.

I'm so so sorry you are having such an awful time, buying a puppy should be an enjoyable experience...a reputable breeder would not treat you or the puppy this way.
I wonder if the hair loss could be because he has been sitting/standing in his own mess for too long? whats his skin like?
Bless him..i just want to scoop him up and cover him in kissies...

I will look into this puppy lemon law. I dont think she can get away by giving me false info eventhough I signed the paper.

The 2nd vet didnt say much, but thinks the puppy was born with abnormal hair growth. She didn't really have an straight forward answer for me.

how old is he? you are going to keep him aren't you? I wouldn't give him back to her. if the vet says it is a birth defect there isn't anything you can do about it is there? except report her dishonesty to better business bureau.
he is cute tho.

Can you find her address: is it in the contract? or if you google the phone number, does her address come up? or on a website? I'd go pay her a visit and bring a witness and a tape recorder.

Everytime I see my poor Oreo with his loss hair on his legs and tail, it reminds me how frustrated I am with the breeder/broker. I guess all I can do for now is warn others about her. So beware of "Ada" who lives around Livermore, CA and has her own maltese website:

Sounds like a nice little lady, but lies about anything to get a sale.

Oh no - I'm SO sorry you had to go through that.

It seems so unfair that you were treated that way.

I can't believe you even had a contract for 48 hours and she didn't honor it!! Write everything down - call the cell phone company and get your phone records and take it all to the police. Lodge a formal complaint against her.

Blog about it as well - anyone searching for information on her kennel will find your blog and be forewarned.

Wow. Keep us posted on what the vet says, ok?
