| Snickers Saw A Ghost! ok, I know that this sounds crazy....but I think my dog is seeing a ghost in our new house. Here's the run down... We just built & moved into a new house & our back property backs up to a federal park. (the town I live in was the home of numerous civil war battles). The park still has visible trenches for several miles. Snickers sleeps in my bedroom in his crate. The last several nights, Snickers has woken me up several times growling & barking. When I let him out he runs to my door & sticks his nose under to investigate. I'll pick him up, open the door to show him that no one is there & then he'll go right back to sleep. So I've been blaming it on him having dreams until my fiance' made a confession to me last night. We are both very careful about making sure all our doors are locked up everynight, because I'm a scaredy cat. He is one of those lucky people who wakes up in the middle of everynight & eats another meal, while half asleep, without gaining an ounce. He told me that the past three nights, the basement door has been wide open during his 2am snack. I promise I'm not crazy......I never really thought to much about ghosts, until I had an experience a few years ago where I think I saw a ghost (another long story). With the history in this town, there are a lot of ghost stories. Any thoughts?? I sure won't be opening my door to show Snickers that no one is there anymore & definately won't give into any midnight snack cravings |

| Well, animals are supposed to be more sensitive to lots of things that humans can't percieve--they can even predict earthquakes before they happen, for example--so I wouldn't discount ANYTHING. My Google runs and plays with an imaginary friend and "follows" something up the stairs sometimes, and sometimes just stands at the bottom of the stairs and barks. The man who we bought the house from passed away within a month after selling the house to us, and I sometimes wonder... |

| Yeah, I've heard that animals have these extra abilities also. I'm so freaked out in my own house now! I'm already the type of person who won't watch a scary movie & although I'm 34 years old I do use a night light!! |

| My gram's house was built on an old indian cemetary, and it was haunted, she saw shadows all the time walking thru her house, she would just ask them what they wanted and then they would go away, she woke up several times to turn off the water in the bathroom, and close closets, etc. she was never afraid thou. Me i would of moved.....

| I think I had a ghost in my other apartment. Dogs have a sixth sense for that kind of thing. Out of nowhere Coco would just stand in the middle of the room and bark at thin air while looking up. She doesn't do that anymore at my new place. I was convinced there was a ghost but didn't tell anyone from fear that people would stop visiting me The whole basement thing is creepy.lol..You know what you need...GHOST BUSTERS

| I feel like running! I guess I should look at the positive...it'll help my smoking habit. We only smoke outside & last night I couldn't get the nerve to go out there by myself! Hopefully it will wear off. |

| Kelly lynne, your grams story sounds similiar to the one I had a few years ago. I was cleaning one of our construction homes (also at the site of previous battles) & out of nowhere a somewhat see through man ran up the stairs, down the hall & just disapeared out the back of the house. He didn't look at me & strangly It didn't make me pee my pants. He had long hair loosely pulled back & a long coat on, similiar to a soldiers. He was running like he was scared. |
