| i just read my last post losts of mispelling *sorry* but you can record voices & noises it's called white noise.there's caertain ways to play back and filter things out. but i have heard that some ghosts are stuck reliving their last moments over & over until they are released..or between worlds due to unfinished buisness they can't cross over but i think i would try to get along with them maybe they don't know they have actually passed?! also i don't know if it's true or not maybe this is an old voodoo tale but you can make a salt line across your threshold to your bedroom or something and anyone wishing to cause you harm cannot cross it! maybe i just watch too many movies?! |

| I LOVE ghost stories! But I'm a chicken when it comes to that stuff too. Sonny used to barking at something in our master bathroom. He wouldn't be looking at any certain thing like the mirror or cabinets, but more like the air or space between him and the wall. I thought he found a fly or something. I walk in there with him to show him there is nothing there and he is fine. He did it the other night, the first time in a long time, but I walked him in there to show him it's all okay. That's not a ghost story but he used to creep me out doing that in the middle of the night that I would get up and sleep on the couch.

| I like everyones suggestions on taping, recording, salt, telling to go to the light etc. I'll try some of these & let you all know what happens! Since I am somewhat new to the site, I wasn't sure if I should post this thread originally....but I just had to know if anyone else had similiar stories. Since it's Friday & we're both off tomorrow, maybe I'll convince my fiance' to sleep on the couch in the basement with me tonight!! I definately hope that this ghost continues to not move things around, or throw action figures at my head!lol. |

I Love My Lil' Punkin's Donating Member | So I'm NOT the only one!!! YIKES... I thought Stedman was the only one doing this! He totally -FREAKED- me out the other night while we were laying in bed! My husband had went to bed at around 10:30 p.m., and I of course, was up until all hours (on YT, lol). Well anyway, I ended up going to bed at about 3:00 a.m. or so and of course I took Stedman with me (he sleeps in our bed). He was fine for a while. He layed down at the end of the bed like he always does and was being so calm. Well all of a sudden, out of the clear blue sky...at around 3:30 or so, he sits up, straight as an arrow, stares DIRECTLY down the hall and starts going BONKERS!! Barking and growling like CRAZY!!! You can see the hall perfectly from the end of my bed where he sleeps....and the hall was pitch black. I looked and could not see a single thing but he was going a-b-s-o-l-u-t-l-e-y NUTS!!!! He did this for a good 10-15 minutes straight. I COULD NOT get him to shut up!! He even woke up my huaband and he was in the middle of a dead sleep. I told my husband to get his butt up and go see what the hell was going on!!! LOL...I was freaking out soooo bad. And of course my husband, the big lug, said "oh it's nothing" and went right back to sleep. OMG....I could have killed him right there lol. I was so FLIPPING SCARED!! Stedman has done this a couple times...and I have NO idea what the heck he sees. I don't even know if I WANNA know I LOVE Halloween and ghost stories and scary movies and everything...and I have always told my husband that I would love nothing more than to visit one of those haunted hotels (well actually we have once...5 years ago on our honeymoon, lol), and I would love to see a ghost...but I don't want them in MY HOUSE!! lol. I am constantly watching those shows about all the haunted places on t.v., and one of my BIGGEST fears is waking up in the middle of the night and seeing a figure standing at the end of my bed looking down at me....OMG - I think I would have heart failure right then and there

Donating YT 7000 Club Member | I LOVE Ghost stories. They freak me out....but I'm so facinated by them! I think my cousin's house is haunted. more her garage, actually. Her house is pretty old, and there have been stories about shootings, suicides etc. Her garage has stairs that go up to a second level, and she told me that someone hung themself or something on the second level. Her husband, Chris, hangs out up there with his friends sometimes. I could never stay up there at night. and my other cousin, Donna's, house is like 100 years old or something. I slept over her house once, and I could've sworn I heard something in the middle of the night. I was creeped. oh and I went to Gettysburg with my friend and her uncle. We were only there for the day, but he said that he might take us to do the midnight trail thing. They said you're almost gaurenteed to see a ghost. Last edited by MeganS; 07-21-2006 at 05:01 PM. |

| Well I'm glad everyone shared their stories. I didn't share mine before because I was afraid that people would think I'm nuts. LOL BUT, I've experienced things my whole life. The first big once was when my grandmother was in the nursing home before she passed away; we went up to visit her (we lived many states away) and we slept in her house the night before the visit. That night I saw an old man in the house. I described the man to my mother who went white as a sheet and she said I'd described my grandfather, even down to the clothes the man was wearing and how he was standing...the only problem was I'd never MET my grandfather, he died a year before I was born. After my grandmother passed away I was alone in her house after the funeral and I spied a prayer book on her dresser that I thought was pretty and was tempted to take it but thought better of it. Just then I heard Grandma's rocking chair rock back and forth. I ran out of the house and went next door to my uncle's house. About 4 weeks later my mother got a box in the mail It was from my aunt and it contained the prayer book I thought was so beautiful. There was a note from my aunt that read "no one knows who this belongs to, but I felt very strongly that Ginny might like it." In 1981, my father died suddenly of a heart attack at the age of 48. A year later I married and had a family. Both of my daughters claim to have seen their grandfather in my mother's house--one said she saw Dad while she was awake, he looked straight at her and looked surprised that he could be seen and ran into his bedroom. My other daughter said she dreamed she was lost in the woods and saw a blond man with hazel eyes (she described my dad) and she said "excuse me, have you seen my mother? She looks like me only with grey hair" and the man looked at her and smiled, but looked sad like he wanted to say something but didn't. My mother says that Dad visits her at night and sometimes is very sad--one time she woke up to find him crouched over the bed, looking sad and almost crying, and he asked her "did you love me?" and then disappeared when she said "Of course I did." When I visit Mom's house with Google, he always sits quietly at Mom's feet--something he never does for anyone else--but looks up towards the stairs when Mom & Dad's bedroom is, like he's waiting for someone to come down. At my house, I mentioned that the man who sold the hous to us passed away shortly after selling the house to us--I really feel that he "came home" to this house after he passed. Not only because of Google's barking, but because I've been nudged in my bed--someone actually poked my butt one day twice while I was wide awake watching TV, lying on my bed. I've also watched two of three perfume bottles fall over while I sat there and watched them go down. My youngest daughter said while watching TV in her room, she had the feeling that someone was tugging her leg. Google always barks up the stairs and sometimes "follows" up the stairs even though no one is going up there with him. Sometimes he goes up there and just stares at my daughter's bedroom door. |

| Where's Sylvia Brown when you need her??? I love this stuff, but it freaks me out sooo bad! I know ghosts can't hurt you, but if I saw one, i would FREAK!!!! When I was a teenager living with my parents, I was asleep in bed one night and woke up unable to move, feeling like the blankets were being pulled tight on either side of me - so tight that I couldn't move my arms - it was like someone was sitting on me, straddling me between their knees. I tried to scream and no sound would come out. It felt like I was being pushed down into the bed. And then it just stopped.. my heart was pounding a mile a minute.... Another time, still a teenager at home, I was startled awake by something "fluttering" around on my neck. I don't know how else to describe it, I would equate it to like a bat or something being stuck in the crook of my neck/chin and moving around like crazy. I kept swiping at it trying to get it off and I couldn't, I screamed bloody murder and got out of bed and when my parents finally came out I was pacing in the hallway outside my room freaking out (and no, I don't sleepwalk). These were two of the freakiest experiences I've ever had!!! I don't know if any of you have heard of Sylvia Brown or read any of her books, but she has some fascinating beliefs on life, the afterlife, ghosts and spirits, etc. I read one of her books and it actually described sensations similar to my two experiences above - according to her, your spirit can leave your body while you sleep and basically 'go to the other side and visit' so to speak. The feeling I had would have been my spirit re-entering my body, which is usually a smooth transition that goes unnoticed - I happened to be wakening WHILE my spirit was re-entering my body and so my spirit kindof 'thrusts' itself in quickly and awkwardly, thus my feeling unable to move and 'pinned'. This is just something I've read though -I thought it was pretty interesting to read about something I had experienced actually explained. Who knows... I definitely recommend her book on ghosts and spirits though for those who like a good ghost story. She tells of visiting places like the home of Alfred Hitchcock. Very good read - I read the book in one day, mind you, I also started sleeping with a nightlight from that point on.

| Oh, I like Sylvia Brown also. I saw her on television and someone wanted to know if their dog's spirit was around them. She said, "Absolutely." I haven't read her books yet but she has one called "The Animals around Us" so I definitely want that one. Oscar's Mummy, have you read it??

| No, I haven't read that one - I bet it's good though. Sylvia has said that when we pass, it is our pets that are the first to greet us when we cross to the 'other side'. I've read and highly recommend two of her books, "Visits from the Afterlife" and "Adventures of a Psychic". Quote:
