| Parti-colored Yorkies Does anyone have or have you ever seen a parti-colored yorkie? I saw an article on YTCA that said that it is not good to breed for these colors because it could be a genetic defect. I personally think that their beautiful colors is one of the things that makes yorkies so special and attractive. It would be interesting to see a yorkie like this though. I just heard of yorkies that are this color and was wondering what you all know about them. |

| A lady on another site is a breeder of yorkies and is getting two females from Germany. She calls them Biewers. She has posted pictures of the two she is getting and they are so cute and had pictures of the parent. She has posted alot about them, it was pretty interesting to hear about them. She is going to breed them only with other Biewers. She never said how much she payed for them or how much hey will go for. I hope when they come to the states and become popular that every back yard breeder doesn't try to sell them...........Cindy Mishasmom here is a web site I just found that has pictures www.biewercoa.org I am going to check it out too. | Parti's I have a friend with one and two more coming from German soon..maybe the same person. They have no more health problems then standard color Yorkies. I understand why serious fanicers disagree..I don't see the problem myself. I have my name on several lists., who knows if I will get one or decide they are too pricy???Most will run $2000 from Germany..then shipping, etc. A few sell as low as $1200 to $3000. USA breeders want $3000 to $5000. |

| Pat, I didn't know you had your name on a list! I want one too!!!!!! Is your name on a list in Germany, spill the beans tell me all about it. Are you going to breed??? I just may have to pay you a little visit in Florida. You know when my son gets out of Iraq and returns to Germany I have seriously thought about trying to get one and bringing it back.

| Do you guys know the origin or history of Biewers? Have they always been around? Do you know where I can find an adult picture of one? Pat that is neat that you are on a waiting list for one. Do you have any pictures I am really interested in these little dogs. Are they a seperate breed all together? Or do you know what I should put in a search engine to find out more? Thanks. | Pat, this is a breeding question and it may be dumb...if you breed a biewer with a regualr yorkie will you get Biewer, mixed litters, regular yorkie colors or what? Or do you need to breed 2 biewers to produce a biewer? Guess I'm comparing them to Chinese Crested. You have your powder puff and your hairless....

| question I want to breed a Biewer to a Biewer since it will be a registered Biewer. So that will make the litter 100% parti-colored. I would think if a Biewer was bred to a standard color it would be 50/50. Not sure..I have my idea of what is ethical for me. Mixing the Biewers is not what I want, keeping the standard colors pure and the Biewer pure is my objective. Of course the very thought of owning Biewers letalone breeding them, send many fanciers off the deep end. Since the Biewer is not a genetic defect or prone to health problems I see nothing unethical..but that is my opinion. Germans have been breeding/ showing them for years. |

| So these dogs have been around for awhile, that is neat. I have been looking at all of the pictures of them that I can find, and they really are beautiful, it is weird to see them though. They get they long coat and everything. The pups adorable too. |

| Biewers The Biewers are prone to the same health problems as our yorkies. They did deriver out of standard yorkies, and were then bred to only the same color dogs to eventually end up as they are now. There is a site about the Biewer in the us that had livershunt and the breeder of the pup would not acknowledge it or stop breeding the parents. I will see if I can find it so I can post it here. Karl in Germany was selling them for around 850 a couple of years ago, but he would not ship the pups, you had to go over there and pick the pup up, so after air fare it was actually a couple thousand dollars to get the pup. |
