The Biewers are prone to the same health problems as our yorkies. They did deriver out of standard yorkies, and were then bred to only the same color dogs to eventually end up as they are now. There is a site about the Biewer in the us that had livershunt and the breeder of the pup would not acknowledge it or stop breeding the parents. I will see if I can find it so I can post it here.

Karl in Germany was selling them for around 850 a couple of years ago, but he would not ship the pups, you had to go over there and pick the pup up, so after air fare it was actually a couple thousand dollars to get the pup.
