| It is the breeder we are mostly upset at. She is is not a good breeder and bad breeders tick a lot of us off. I do think it's your responsibility to help keep this from napping again whether you take the pup or not she needs to be turned in for breaking the law and that has nothing to do even with you or the pup you are taking but the future pups she will do this with if she can get away with it, the pups that could die because of this please think of them. I also think sense she will be busy you really should ask her if the mom can come stay with you for a few weeks it would be so good for your pup.

| I know this is probably very difficult and scary for you to read all this. It is for me, too. Like many other people here, I don't want to see an innocent baby suffer, nor do I want to see you go through heartbreak either. I agree with the others about getting health insurance (Trupanion, Healthy Paws, Pet Plan, Embrace) so that you won't have as much financial burden if there are health issues with your pup. It won't help with the heartbreak of watching your puppy suffer if he does have health issues. Yorkies are so popular that people are breeding them as a source of income without doing health tests that would safeguard the health of future pups. . I definitely don't want to hurt you, and I will support you in any way I can, as I believe many other members will, too. Please continue to read on here and ask questions. We are upset that you are put in this situation in the first place and that these puppies are not more important to this breeder.

| Having lots of people involved you probably need to print out a sheet with hypoglycemia symptoms on it, what to do if the pup becomes hypoglycemic as well as the vets info and emergency vet info just incase.

| God bless you. I think you'll be a great mom for Noni. Please let us know how it goes. Dumb question who is taking care of the breeder dogs while she is away. Could they possibly take on the pup also till it's ready to meet the outside world. 6 and a half weeks is pretty tiny. even if you could get them to keep with mom for a week or two more. Lynne |

Great idea....but I can promise you, there are a TON of excuses already formulated to negate this idea! She is dumping these babies and that is the bottom line. She has absolutely NO intention of doing one thing for this puppy's best interest or the new owner....not now, not in the future. | |

| This is a sad situation. The first Yorkie I purchased was from a puppy mill but I was barely 20 so had no idea until someone educated me. My second Yorkie was from a reputable breeder and my current Yorkie is from a reputable breeder who, although reputable, could still improve her ethics in my opinion. For example, she did not put into her contract that she would take my puppy back if I could not care for him for any reason, among other things. However, regardless of the breeders, it was up to me to choose to not take my puppy before 12 weeks or even consider a breeder who would consider releasing a puppy before then. It was up to me to not encourage puppy mills by refusing to buy from them and BYB. I agree there are no guarantees but I think it is up to us to be responsible to ensure we can at least say we gave the puppy the best start and taking a 6 week old puppy (of any breed) isn't the best start. This breeder is selfish and manipulative and I'm sorry that you've been put in this situation. If anyone is telling you to walk away, it is simply because your kind heart is being abused by someone who does not respect the gift of life but merely appreciates the funding it creates. A manipulator, scam artist.. I would recommend you walk away. Save for a puppy who is released at the appropriate times, with the appropriate vaccinations under the appropriate rules and guidelines set forth by the state and breeder ethics. Try to see that in assuaging your guilt regarding this puppy, you are missing the bigger picture by encouraging unethical behaviour for a 'bargain'. I, too, had to learn this lesson. Unfortunately, I had to learn it on my own without the assistance of the people here. However, if you don't walk away, the best we can do is wish you and your puppy good luck and remain sickened at this, sadly, typical situation. |

YT Addict | I took Pips at 7 weeks with no problem. Just remember his immunity is nothing. He cannot go outside or be exposed to people at all until he has had all of his shots and the vet says ok. Pips is 16 weeks and has never touched the ground. He's in a fro t pouch strapped in and no one touches him. The dr released him this week and he is now on heartworm and flea protection. I am home with home all day, if you work you are going to have problems because you need to monitor his water and food intake closely. If you don't work or someone can watch them carefully then it would probably ok. See if she can keep them one more week. Tell her you will pay for his shots if necessary. The shots start at seven weeks- |
