| What else do I need Went shopping yesterday for my puppy which I may be able to bring home next weekend. I bought Royal Canine dog food, collar, harness, leash, bells to hang on the door for potty training, dog tag, wet dog food, puppy treats, Nutrical, shampoo, hair brush, and I still want to get a bed, crate, a couple toys, and dog food bowls. Is there anything else I might need? |

| Sensitive baby wipes are a thing I use a lot. Make sure when you get the crate its not to big. We learned from Callie's accidents that you should not spend to much money on the bed that goes in the crate. After her bed we bought was ruined we bought blankets and family dollar and cut them to her crate size and layered them to make a nice bed but when she had accidents we would throw them away and put new ones in. Puppy shampoo that is tear free and lots of teething toys.

Donating YT 3000 Club Member | These are the items I found useful that I put on my blog. Some are duplicates of what you have. Puppy food - whatever puppy is eating now Tube of Nutra Cal Blankets Potty pads Potty pad holder Iris 4 sided expen with 2 extra sides Toys Identification tags Nature’s Miracle Treats- Cheerios work well Small bowls Harness Leash Puppy shampoo Conditioner Espree Pet Facial Cleanser - plum Baby wipes Nail clippers Kwik Stop Styptic Powder Curved scissors Brush - Li'l Pals Slicker Purple and Green Brush for Kittens, Extra Small - slicker brush that I find it to work awesome... just make sure you get one without any ball on the ends of the pins so it doesn't snag the long hair. Comb - Groomaster Finishing Dog Comb - this is a great eye comb, I have it and use it to get eye boogies out and even to use around their butt when they get some dry puppy stuck! Books "Yorkies For Dummies" "Yorkshire Terriers: A Smart Owners Guide" "How to Housebreak Your Dog in 7 Days"

| You will need conditioner as well as shampoo for tangle free grooming. Also, I recommend a blow dryer created just for dogs so it doesn't get too hot. You will needed some Natures Miracle spray for clean up.I used an expen to block off areas of the house that were too big for a baby gate. I also recommend doggie stairs or a ramp for access to the bed and train him to go down the steps as well as up to prevent future jumping injuries. Congrats and post pics when you are able!

| You seem pretty well prepared, good job! Other than what others have mentioned, pick up some puppy toys that are good for chewing and when the puppy will be teething (the adult teeth coming in, the pup will chew a LOT during that to relieve sore gums).

| Please remember, this little puppy is EXACTLY like a newborn baby....DO NOT place the pup on a counter top, cabinet, table, chair, bed, etc, then turn your back for even a second! That puppy WILL fall and hit the floor, and like a human baby, they move rapidly and can get injured badly, very quickly! Do not let people hold your new puppy unless they are sitting on the floor....people never hold the baby tightly enough, and a lot of pups are routinely dropped! Do not allpw your baby to run all over the house, unsupervised.....keep her in the same area you are in, watching her continously! When you can not have your eyes glued on her, you need to put her in a play pen (x-pen)....just like a baby/toddler, unsupervised pup will get into major trouble!!! Just like a baby, periods of activity have to be divided by frequent naps....over exercise can lower sugar reserves and cause hypoglycemia.....also, until pup is completely immunized, I would not be socializing or doing public appearances, and I always encourage my new owners to limit contacts until baby gets accustomed to a new family, environment, etc....no need to complicate things and incress stress with too many visitors. |

YT 2000 Club Donating Member | Because I live in a house with lots of stairs and stair cases, one good thing to have in place is a way to close off those stair cases! I use Xpens, but babygates can be effective too. THis is above and beyond a playpen you will use for your puppy. This is for when you take your puppy out of their crate/playpen and want them to exercise a bit more freely but still safely. Look around your house to see what you would need to close off.
