Please remember, this little puppy is EXACTLY like a newborn baby....DO NOT place the pup on a counter top, cabinet, table, chair, bed, etc, then turn your back for even a second! That puppy WILL fall and hit the floor, and like a human baby, they move rapidly and can get injured badly, very quickly! Do not let people hold your new puppy unless they are sitting on the floor....people never hold the baby tightly enough, and a lot of pups are routinely dropped! Do not allpw your baby to run all over the house, unsupervised.....keep her in the same area you are in, watching her continously! When you can not have your eyes glued on her, you need to put her in a play pen (x-pen)....just like a baby/toddler, unsupervised pup will get into major trouble!!! Just like a baby, periods of activity have to be divided by frequent naps....over exercise can lower sugar reserves and cause hypoglycemia.....also, until pup is completely immunized, I would not be socializing or doing public appearances, and I always encourage my new owners to limit contacts until baby gets accustomed to a new family, environment, etc....no need to complicate things and incress stress with too many visitors. |
