| Congratulations on your precious baby! I would be worried about what the baby is missing developmentally from early separation from momma, but perhaps you can "google" what a Yorkie puppy gets from its momma during the last month of its recommended stay with its momma, from week 8 to week 12....and you can at the very least know what to look for! It is an exciting time for you and baby! Congratulations! |

| Congrats I know you are excited. My little furgirl was just born on Tuesday. My breeder does not release her pups until after 12 weeks. I just want these months to fly by. |

| Congratulations, as others have said... a lot of development happens between 8 and 12 weeks and your puppy should still be with his mother. Many members have come here with young puppies and often come back complaining that they are having issues with their puppies, and it all stems back to how they were raised. In the end it is your decision...

| Congratulations! I have been VERY hesitant to be specific about how old my Luma was when she came home a week ago. She was almost 10 weeks old. I knew that they say a reputable breeder will keep them until 12 weeks at least. My girl was not a petite little thing, not a "teacup" at all, and she is very healthy. I was obviously impatient to bring her home but I trust my breeder completely, she has had yorkies for YEARS and all of hers are very healthy. I hope that your breeder is letting him go home so early because she was confident that he would be okay, not because she needed some money a couple weeks early/didn't care about his best interests. Perhaps you could ask your breeder if they could keep the puppy a while longer.

| I think the pup is older than 8 weeks. I will have to ask the owner for the exact date he was born.At any rate he was raised with lots of other adult Yorkies and puppies. They have 4 or 5 adults and have another litter they are still raising so Milo gets lots of interaction. Although I appreciate the advice I am not overly concerned about it. I think the right amount of attention and proper training can overcome any minor flaws. I am sure he will be a good puppy and will develop into a very nice dog. Can't wait. |

| Money does not seem to be the issue with these folks and this is certainly not their first rodeo. I am confident that they have the puppies best interest at heart and everything will be just fine. |

| As others have said it IS best for the pup to stay with mama till at least 12 wks. Old school was 6 wks but that was yrs ago & it has since been researched & concluded that pups learn a lot of important things from their mother that no human can teach them the way that mama can so apparently your breeder is not all that reputable or would be educated on this topic & doing rite by her pups. I'm not trying to be sarcastic just truthful & have Nothing against You or your baby who I'm sure is just as cute as can be & Loved beyond belief. With that said I know that you will be Happy with your new baby but you must keep in mind that you need to be very patient in training as there are things that your baby needed to learn from mom & never got the chance. Welcome to YT ! You will like it here as there are lots of nice folks & so much useful info here. Looking forward to watching your little one grow & getting to know you.
