Missing Yoshi Everyday! Donating Member | have you tried crate training? and keep her on a routine schedule....mine goes out first thing in the morning...i don't come back in until i can account that all 5 has peed and pooped....then they come and play and then i take them out again 2 hours later so they can pee ....then i feed them....then i would take them out again about 10-15 minutes after feeding...also if i had to crate them for some reason first thing i do is take them out once i let them out of their crate...and they do their business before i come back in...after playing for a while...after eating/drinking...after being let out of crate....and after naps/sleeping....and before bed.

| You've gotten good advice. One other thing you need to keep in mind is that many do have a bit of a problem after being spayed.

| The hardest thing we have to deal with Abby (7 months) - 3 weeks spayed) is she was a sneak pee-er, she never even squated! just peed as she walked, we would find a long trail of pee (luckily all tile- but still!) My other two dogs I trained to pee on command, but I have had a hard time catching Abby to repeat "go potty- go potty". I think I see the light going on, she is holding it longer- we are down to 1 or two accidents a day. She also poops right before she gets hungry not after she eats- hard to figure her schedule. Thank goodness they are little. |

| Crate training is a big deal in our house. It truly helped Bolton remember where to go and get on a schedule. |

| I'm trying creat training and she does go.. I take her out in the morning she pees a lot and poops twice.. she won't poop inside but she pees..where ever.. I tried to get her to go on wee wee pads but I so sucked at it.. I'm a keep trying with the creat.. i made her space really small.. take her out every two hours to go and she does but when I leave her out playing she'll go again right next to me.. which so sucks..

| SO with crate training you are suppose to leave them in it all day except to take them out to potty?? Sami would be howling and crying her head off, which would make me crazy!! Sami has lots of accidents (on purposes too!) but I just don't think I could do that. |

| Sorry and now I worry about Prissy, she will be spayed soon and as of now doing great with training...I can't imagine doing it all over again but if I have to I will, she is the love of our life. Oh and every time she had a mishap DH would say aaw she is a baby. Now you know how hard it is here at home.

| Honestly, Rosie wasn't fully potty trained until about a year old. (If I remember correctly). We got her at 6 months and she wasn't trained. I keep puppy pads down and take her outside. That way both are there. Also when we were training, we made a huge production when she would potty outside. Praise, praise, and praise some more. And she would get a treat. That was the only times she got treats. With the consistency, she is fully potty trained. She never has pee accidents in the house. I do not crate her at all. She has full run of the house now. When we started out she was only in one room then two runs then the entire house.

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | my dogs are all pad trained, I used an x pen to train them, they are confined to the x pen with a washable pad and their bed, and at night all the girls are crate confined in my bedroom, also my mix breed Relay, only Harrison sleeps in bed with us and he pees in the pad with the bottle in the middle. do you have a pen, I don't crate during the day, only at night. I will suggest getting a x pen until she is fully trained. it will save you LOTS of headaches.. hugs, Carmen |

| Are you giving her a treat when she goes outside or on the pad? If yes, up the treat to a piece of chicken or something she loves. Everytime she does it right, say 'Good Girl' and give her the treat. Treats and praise are 'key' in positive reinforcement. Ignore mistakes, clean them up and move on. No grumbling, sideways glances or stinkeye. Just do it. Also, instead of crate or xpen, you could confine her in one room (puppy proof) until she hones her potty skills. Also watch her closely, she should be giving you some kind of clue that she's thinking about 'going'. And when I say 'watch her' I don't mean 'keep an eye on her', I mean look at her every move and figure out what she's doing, going to do, and what she's thinking about. Pretend she's a poisonous snake that you're trying not to let bite you. Eyes on her. When you need a break, she goes with you or into a crate, xpen, or puppyproof room. Extra credit: Every time DH wants anything, tell him to wait, you'll be right back, you have to go walk the puppy, she has to go potty. Nothing like a supportive DH.

| I know some others here with females said they had issues with their little girls going potty after their spays also. Just keep on being diligent, treat her when she goes where you want her to go and praise her also. Jack will be 3 in May and just today he had an accident. Well either that or he was marking his territory... even though he's been neutered... At any rate, hang in there and just keep a very watchful eye on her. As soon as she looks like she might start going potty, swoop her up and take her immediately where you want her to potty. She'll get the hang of it eventually.
