not exactly...that made it sound cruel...they are out as long as i am able to supervise them...which is usually all day unless i have to go somewhere...to class or run errands then they get crated...their kennel/crate is the size 36" one which is normally made for a larger dog...they all go in there together...they have their therapeutic bed and lots of blankets so they are comfy...they don't do their business inside their kennel but they sleep when i am not here...or even if i was here but needed to clean then i crate them and they sleep or sit there and watch me....i used to use a playpen yard thing but Mei Ling can fly over them and the others have caught on and can climb out of them...but this works for me and to me there is not cruel about crate training unless don't incorrectly and confines them in there 24/7.
