Honestly, Rosie wasn't fully potty trained until about a year old. (If I remember correctly). We got her at 6 months and she wasn't trained. I keep puppy pads down and take her outside. That way both are there. Also when we were training, we made a huge production when she would potty outside. Praise, praise, and praise some more. And she would get a treat. That was the only times she got treats. With the consistency, she is fully potty trained. She never has pee accidents in the house.
I do not crate her at all. She has full run of the house now. When we started out she was only in one room then two runs then the entire house.
