| what else could i do okay i posted in the wrong area but i just need some advice on what else i could have done or do in this situation. i was shopping at petco in my home town and heard a dog cry as if he was in pain so when i look through the groomers window i see the groomer shaving a schnauzer's face and he is trying to get away and she was holding his whiskers and beard so tight twisting the long hair around her fingers i just stood there watching as she tightened her grip at this time i notice im not the only one watching now i know she felt us watching cause i was trying to burn her with my eyes she looks up at me and as i shook my head at her in disgust she lets go and says aww good boy. i couldnt believe i was the only one willing to speak to the manager but i did and she seemed as if it were no big deal.. i know that you have to hold the dog really well for this part of the cut but there is a safe correct way. i was so upset i storm to the door tears in my eyes when a gentle man walking in ask me if im okay and of course i tell him what i just wittnessed and point out the manager i spoke to who is still watching me he looked as if he had seen a ghost i had know idea it was his schnauzer...so he walks to the manager and she gets mad at me for telling him. i still feel like i should have done more what could i do is there someone i could call plzzz tell me

| Awww, that's terrible. I hate to see stuff like that too. I think you did the best you could by talking to the manager. And at least that man knows it was his dog and hopefully he won't bring him back there. You may be able to call corporate offices, but I am not sure. So sorry though.

| Well, hard to say. I sit at my groomer's when my pups go in. I have two who are notorious "screamers" ... if someone were going by who was not aware, they would swear they were being hurt while I know that is not the case. Not that I am defending it...just saying that unless you know the dog, it's a hard call. They do have to restrain them...some pups will scream just because you are restraining them.

| Oh, and yes, it should have been reported. At least then they could look into things.

| Good for you for speaking up!!! Dogs can't tell you how they were treated when they were away from you, but you gave that dog a voice. I would have wanted someone to speak up for ZoE if I wasn't there to do so. I'm sure that dog would thank you because his owner probably won't take him back there to be subjected to such rough treatment.

| I agree...I would also want some one like you to speak up for my two pups if I wasn't around to see it. I am sure the man that owned the schnauzer was happy you did as well.

| I see you as a hero! Thank goodness it happened to be the schnauzers owner you talked with. At least now he knows what is going on there. You are great for speaking up for that dog - who cares what the manager says or thinks.

| I think you did what any person who is concerned about other animals would do or at least I would hope they would do. Some groomers do hold the hair under the chin and its supposed to keep the dog from pulling and stuff but I imagine if the dog continues to pull and scream they need to let lose and take a minute or two or just use a different approach. It is possible the dog was just a screamer to my moms beagle screams when anyone looks at his mouth except my dad, when we first took him to the vet my dad stayed in the waiting room and me and my mom took him back and when the vet went to just look at his teeth he was screaming like he was dying but there was nothing wrong with him and my dad came back and said hey what are you doing to my dog and had to show the vet his teeth lol.

| My Olivia is so bad that sometimes all I have to do is touch her feet when I am grooming her and she screams like a little girl...and I mean LOUD...you know the sound...like a little girl cheerleader. As in shreak! My pups always come running to save her. Crazy stuff. She does it on occasion at the groomer as well, but she knows no one is going to save her. Least of all me...I already have her number.

| You are a good person, taking up for someone that could speak out. If that dog bit her it would have to be quaranteened and the groomer is the one that should of been put in a cage. It was NO accident that they man asking you if you were ok was the owner of the dog,,it was GOD taking care of the little ones. You still need to call corporate. |
