| Frontline Plus reviews? Howwell does it work? Hi. I posted a thread a while back ago about having difficulty getting my dog to take the flea pill. I went through two sets of pills for two dogs in three days trying to get it down them. This time at the vet I tried to go with the topical stuff. The vet reccomended the Frontline Plus and that was his reccomended choice. I put it on them last night around 8:30. I hope I did it right. I tried to do it at the shoulder blades and I tried to move their hair around to expose the skin. It looked like the medicine ran and didn't stay in one spot, so Im not sure if I got it enough at skin level or not. But my concern is, I checked them this afternoon and I still found a couple of live fleas. They were easier to catch, usually theyre fast lil boogers. But my concern is that It would have been well past the 12 hours since the medicine was given, I thought they were supposed to be dead by then?? Is it just not as effective or did I maybe do it wrong? I dont think they could have had many fleas, They just went to the groomer yesturday and had their hair cut short so they could grow out through winter. But w their hair being short and easier to see I can really see anything. I did find a couple , one on each dog. And I did see a tiny flea jump on a throw that the dogs have been on. But other than that my Yorkie is in my lap all the time and I dont see anything, and I checked him again today and my girl Lhasa apso and I just dont see fleas scurring around. They sure cant have many. But I got the bedding in the washer and dryer. I vacumed the top surface of the living room suite. we dont have carpet to worry with, we have the wood laminate. Anything else I need to do? I just get paranoid about getting a "flea problem". Whats your thoughts on the Fronline Plus, Does it really work? I was suprised to see a live flea on my dogs after the 12 hour mark???? |

| I use Frontline on all my dogs. I've used it for a few years and I never have fleas on my dogs. I use the frontline in the spray pump bottle. I like it best because it's less expensive for me since I have 6 dogs and My daughters use it on their dogs too, so that's 8 dogs. I seem to get more applications for my money than I do when buying the tubes. The bottle says to completely cover the dog's body with the spray, but I've never applied it liek that. I just squirt a line of it down the spine area and then also on the chest /belly area. It says to repeat it every 30 days but i usually only apply it about every 6 weeks. It has worked for me over the years... even on my outside dogs. Even when we go camping and trail riding(horses) My collie (he's deceased now) would never pick up fleas or ticks, even in the woods. It works great!

| I've heard that in some areas, fleas are becoming immune to Frontline. That being said, Frontline Plus works very well for us in my area. We use it year-round and have never had a problem.

| My Pebbles has fleas. I was shocked because my babies never had them. I just thought she had some kind of allergies, so I brought her in to the doctor and he found flea poop in her coat. I freaked. He gave me Capstar Pill for each of my babies and I put the frontline plus on them. I buy the box for the biggest dog possible then I only use .65 ml on each dog. It is the same price as for the small dogs but I only have to use 1 tube on all four of them. It is a big time money saver. I'm dying to give them a bath but I have to wait I think 2 days after I put it on them. I am soooooo freaked out.

| I've been using it on Jack for about 2 years now and it works great - never had a flea. I like that I can put it on him once a month and not worry about having to treat him more often. Good luck!

| Princess has been dealing with fleas & flea allergies. We did a month of Frontline & she still itched like crazy & had the dang things. I wanted to switch to something else but my vet really believes in Frontline so I bought another dose along with Capstar-it's a pill that kills any live fleas on the pup for 24 hours. After doing that she was itch/flea free for just about a week, then I repeated the Capstar & she's felt relief again. I bought one pill which was quartered up for her (8lbs),$7.00, & will probably give them weekly if she starts itching until the apt. is free of them. The vet said the Frontline has to be used for 3-6 months non-stop on all animals in the home to kill the population off. Long story short, this is the second month & I'm seeing results. That may or may not be due to adding the Capstar. Good luck.

| The vet said he could give me a steroid for her because she is itching and allergic to the fleas. I am nervous though. He also said i could try baby benedryl .65 ml I think I might try that first. I will also ask for another dose of the capstar next week if it doesnt improve. They say the flea infestation is so bad this year that people who never had them are having them because of the very wet end of summer beginning of fall we have had here. I dont even want to let them out in the yard anymore because that is where they got them in the first place. I think I just want to let them go on the washable pad. I will never get rid of them if I let them outside. Boy this sucks!!! I just want to shave them all down but I like to let them grow a bit in the winter. I might have no choice though. I think I will do it Monday cuz they had their dose of frontline on Friday so I will shave them and wash them. Poor babies. Now my kids wont even touch them cuz of the fleas. I feel bad. I still let them sleep with me. I havent had any flea bites or itchies on me. I just hate to make them out to have the cooties!!!

| I tried the Frontline plus last year for my cats because we were having a terrible tick problem. While it worked for the fleas it did nothing to kill ticks. I understand that it won't keep them off the cats but we still found fully engorged ticks on them. Did not even bother with it this year. Just used the regular Advantage for the cats. Gracie does not get ticks because she is not out in the tall grass and the woods like the cats are. |

| well, my problem is that last time we did the pill, and had a terrible time getting them to take it. We tried everything and they still wouldnt have it. We went through two pills per dog in three days. It was a waste and they still didnt get it down them. So, this time I told my vet that they didnt take the pill well and we were out alot of money in three days for two sets, and we tried topical stuff this time and the vet reccomended Frontline plus. Said that was his reccomendation. So,we went with that. But, Im soo disapointed. I dont think its working.... I thought I read on the Frontline site that it was supposed to kill them within 12 hours. 24 hours later we still found life fleas.... Im just aggrivated to have bought this kind only to have it seem to be another waste. What else to do?? When we bought the Fronline he had a deal going on that if we bought a third one we got a fourth one free. So Im just aggrivated to have spent so much on the pill, didnt get it to work couldnt get it down them. Tried the Frontline and bought extra for the deal only to see fleas still 24 hrs later.... Aggrivated. Im still new at being an indoor dog owner but Im learning and trying to do right by my babies as financially possible. Ive never kept them treated everymonth as they dont go outside often and never had a real flea issue but now that they are getting them and Im learning Im trying to do well about treating them. And I certainly dont want a flea problem in the house. Im sooo paranoid about that. But what else is a person to do, everythign is tight on people these days financially and Ive went throug two sets of pills a month ago, and was out money for ear meds and two rounds of Frontline this time and its not working. I guess you expect when you get meds from a vet that they are the best of the best and will work. What else do you do??? sincerely, flea'd and frusterated. lol |

| I've always used Frontline Plus and never had a flea. I am in a more rural area and within a long walk of a major river, so wildlife (and fleas) abound here. If it didn't work, we'd definitely have fleas. Because my babies are so small, I actually split one dose between them.

♥Tiny Tia my Furbaby♥ Donating Member | My vet recomended Advacate, its brilliant and you only worm them every 6 months instead of every 3 months as it takes care of lung worm and a few of the others as well

| Well I shaved all 4 of them down today and they all had baths. I did not find 1 flea on any of them. They do look cute though but I cut poor Pebbles on her belly/hip. I feel TERRIBLE!!! It doesn't bother her though, she is not even trying to lick it, but I did take a nice smaller than a dime size chunk off. I am going to wait until tomorrow and see how it looks. First Im upset because I had to shave them down which I didnt want to then I hurt my Pebby... I just cant win.Plus I'm fighting moles in my backyad. I set up mouse traps with buckets over them by the mole holes and I am waiting to catch them. I'm a regular exterminater today!!!
