| Groomer cut Gizmo's toenail too short I took Gizmo to get groomed at the local vet here and i brought him home and we went for a walk... All of a sudden his paw starts gushing blood and i ran to the vet. The vet has the nerve to charge me to see Gizmo even though i just picked him up to get groomed. So the vet says its not his fault that his nail is bleeding. But it is!!! HIS groomer at HIS practice cut Gizmos nail too short. A 30$ grooming ended up costing me 80$ plus gizmo had to wear a bandage for the weekend. Should i call the vet that owns the whole company? I think its ridiculous! So frustrated with vets in general they nickle and dime you to death! I need to find one that is safe & reliable! |

| YES! You should most certainly complain- I am very understanding of the fact that accidents happen- but when they happen the person responsible for them should be the one footing the bill. I would request a full refund for the vet visit.

| Oh, I'm so sorry Gizmo is hurt. I'm sure that was awful for him, poor fella. Let me tell you, that vet would have heard what I had to say before I left and there would be not doubt that I was not paying. I would have directed him to see his on site groomer if he expected to be paid. I would certainly call above this vet if possible, at least the owner would know how business is being conducted. Good Luck...Hugs ))) to Gizmo

| Oh i was very vocal to the point where my husband pushed me outside so he could speak to him. My husband is the kind of guy to argue so he payed it and said he would deal with it later. ugh Question- Can he possibly get an infection?? |

| It happens to the best of groomers...but they should have told you they cut the nail too short and not to walk him for 24 hrs...once it clots and that takes 10 full mins, if the dogs does not run around or walk too much it will not bother the clot. If it ever happens again...the vet is not necessary...just press a paper towel with Quik Stop on it for 10 mins...repeat if necessary. I had a Doxie lose an entire toe nail and it only bled for about 5 mins...not gushing...just a steady drip and the Quik Stop worked...then I bandaged it. I do not bandage a too short nail...needs air to heal faster... I do not think the vet should have billed you...and I would go elsewhere and tell them why if they do not reembruise you. |

| Wait, so not only did he charge you in the first place, but did I read that right, $50?? to stop a nail from bleeding?? I mean stuff happens, quicks get hit, but geeze, was the entire nail gone or something? you're right for getting mad at him charging you for that regardless of how had it was. Why the bandage? And no, I've never heard of a cut nail getting infected, I'm sure anything's possible, but I can't possibly imagine.

Since the groomer is in the same building as the vet I would have just gone back in there and asked her to put something on it. Then you wouldn't have been charged by the vet. I'm kinda 50/50 on the vet charing you for the visit. I mean technically he didn't do it, but he does employee or rent out the space to the groomer. The groomer could be an independent contractor and rent the space from the vet, so she wouldn't be considered an employee.

I go to the Animal Medical Center off Mcbean heres the website... Welcome To Animal Medical Center: Your One Stop Hospital For All Your Pet's Health Care Needs! :: Home I know that the vet didn't do anything wrong but he should take responsibility for his employees. Gizmo is my first dog so I really didnt know why his foot was covered in blood so i called the vet and just brought him in. I thought at first he stepped on something on our walk but im very careful to scan the ground as we walk because on our trail there are lots of bees. | |

| Its been about a year ago now, but, I took Kayla in for her yearly check-up and usually they will trim her nails free. The guy that usually does her nails was not there and another person did them. She has a long cuticle and he cut her. Did not say anything and when I got her home she started limping. I called because I was scared someone might have dropped her or something and they said no, her nail was cut too short. I think they should tell anyone when that happens. They must have really nicked your baby for it to start bleeding again and then to charge you for bringing her back in for something they did. Noooooo, I think not. That would have made me mad too. |

| This is why I am afraid to take Louie to the groomer. I'm not skilled at grooming- trust me...but I'm terrified to leave my baby and have someone hold him still and then cut his nail too short. You most certainly shouldn't have had to pay the vet for something that happened while at his facility. That is crazy!
