| A vet assistant cut my labs nail too short once, didn't tell us, and then once we got home whatever they have stopped it up with came out. He limped, left large blood trails, and when we took him back they bandaged his foot so he couldn't lick it. Long story short his leg swelled because they wrapped his leg too tight, and then wanted to charge us for the meds to deal with the infection/swelling. I hit the roof and told them I wouldn't pay for their negligence. (Note: I was stationed w/ DH at Fort Polk in Louisiana at the time, small town 2 vets.) I'd call and tell them to reimburse the money first off, second I would find a new vet because anyone who is that brainless shouldn't be graced with your pup as a client. I'm sorry that happened to you. ![]() As for groomers, I am paying $65.00 for a mobile groomer for Teddie. It's a lot, but to me it is worth it. The people are right outside my door, I can hear a commotion if there is one (Teddie screams at blow dryers), and I like that he isn't in a kennel "waiting his turn" for hours and also not with others dogs in a "play" environment while waiting his turn. I hope you can get this all sorted out soon...Good luck to you!!

| I would have been incredibly upset and yes, I would call the head vet or whoever is top dog and discuss the issue. I work with groomers and know that yes, it can happen. However, the groomer should have told you and explained how to care for it. When I used to have my lab, Karma, I took her to this pet store to have her nails cut since I had a coupon. She was a very nervous dog that was epileptic and it took two associates to pin her down in a back room (out of my sight) to do it. She came back to me with bloody nails. Oh, I was pissed. They could have told me they couldn't do it or were not able, but no. It's the groomer's responsiblity to tell you of any injury to your pet while they are in their care. Definitely take it up with whoever is in charge, and request being reimbursed for their mistake.
