| Carpet Cleaning Machine? Having just taken in an untrained rescue, and unfortunately having a currently carpeted home, I need suggestions for carpet cleaning machines. I just did some reading about a 'SpotBot', has anyone used one? I will NEEEED something shortly...LOL!! Thanks!

| I don't have a lot of room in my place so I just rent a Rug Doctor unit from the local Tru Value hardware store. I was given a spot bot but I don't really think it works as well the bigger rental units. Good luck with your new family member! T. |

| Okay, i'm not sure as to what price you are willing to pay but I just got an excellent deal on a Rug Doctor from Kohl's They currently have a grand opening sale going on and if you have a Kohl's Card, you can get 30% off of your purchase plus you will get $10.00 in Kohl's Cash for ever $50.00 you spend. The Kohl's Cash can be used at Kohl's for ANYTHING you want to purchase. Anyways, they have the Rug Doctor Mighty Pro for $599.99, I called to see if they would price match Sam's Club since they have it for $475.00. The lady agreed to do the price match, plus gave me 30% off, plus free shipping, PLUS $60.00 in Kohl's Cash to spend as I please. I ended up getting the Rug Doctor for $282.50 after deducting the Kohl's Cash. The Rug Doctor is a superb machine and will really save you time and money in the long run, it's well worth it. If you aren't willing to spend that much on Rug Doctor, you can still use the coupon toward their other carpet cleaners including the Spot Bot. Anyways, sorry for the long post! Good luck! |

Would love to know if the SpotBot works. I bought a full size Hoover Dual V steamvac at Walmart after my little nephews visited and tracked mud everywhere. The machine really does the job, although it is a little labor intensive changing the tanks so often. It is handy to be able to clean one room at a time, at my leisure. It sucks up the water so well -- no waiting around forever for the carpet to dry or worrying that mold will grow in the padding. I used it on area rugs and I could see on the backing that the machine cleaned everything thoroughly. | |

| I wanted to add that I use my Hoover Steam Vac to clean all of our rental units... and so it is used a LOT. So with all of our pets... and other people's nastiness (SERIOUSLY)... I have been very pleased!

| ok, you Hoover owners don't throw stones at me for this!!! BUT, I owned 2 of the Hoover machines, on the first one, that was about 2yrs old, the hose that goes from the bottom of the machine to the water tank broke, we duct taped it and got almost another year out of it. Then I purchased another one, the same thing happened when it was 8 mths old, we duct taped it and got another month out of it, then the brushes quit moving at all. When you let the handle back you can see the hose. Now until the same problem with the hose I loved this Hoover, We allways have 2-6 indoor animals so it got used alot. Needless to say, I bought something else this time. I got the Bissel pet heated machine and I ADORE IT!! The water tank sits right on top and gives it the extra weight I always thought the hoover should have. It cleans wonderfully. I even went over where I used the Hoover when it was working pretty good and what a difference it made. So sorry Hoover owners but I think the Bissel has it beat hands down. I paid $159 for the first Hoover $197 for the second Hoover and $198 for the Bissel. I am considering the bissel spot machine for the little accidents we seem to keep having.. Let us know what you decided and how you like it.... Sharon, Joey and Cabella |

| Some grocery stores sell their rental rug doctors after a fairly short time. They can be gotten fairly cheap, but, I guess being used you probably don't get any kind of warranty. I had a hoover that broke in a year, and the repair place said their motors were terrible, but that was 10 years ago, so they may be better now. I also had a heated Bissel that lasted for ever, but I gave it away because, I pulled up the carpet and redid the hardwood, and tiled the rest. That was the ultimate solution hehe. | I have the Spot Bot and I love it. It's great for the occasional accident but it doesn't do well with a whole room full of mess. I just blot it up and then you just set the Spot Bot on there, turn it on, and it does it's thing. There's also a hose that you can suck up the extra moisture with when it's done. After saying all that, we had our carpet professionally cleaned this week. People think I'm crazy but we're getting a new puppy on Sunday. Sadie is really well housebroken now and I wanted to be sure and get all the remnants of her puppy accidents up before the new puppy gets here. I know he'll have accidents but I thought it would be better to start with a clean slate. Does this make sense to anyone else or am I crazy? |
