| Hi, I am a new yorkie mom =) Hi! My name is Abbie. I just found this site while I was searching for some answers about the Lepto vaccine. Our family just welcomed Princess Aribella Emily Sparkles this week. Our 7 year old Taylor named her She is a 3 pound, 6 month old doll and we are IN LOVE! I am sure I will have plenty of questions so I am really glad to find ya'll! O any opinions on the Lepto vax are welcomed. We do have cattle though so that is why the vet is telling me that we should get it...... |

| I don't do them The usefulness is limited because there are so many strains of Lepto, and it's treatable if the dog gets it. However, I'm not sure about the cattle thing. I'd hope none of the cattle are infected because Lepto is communicable even to humans. I see where your vet is coming from to some extent, because it's transferred through fluids, which can mean infected water, soil, etc. But as far as having cattle, please don't let your baby actually mingle with the cattle regardless what you do about the vaccination. Yorkies are very bold little animals that don't realize how small and fragile they are, and they want to play with everything. Your cattle could hurt your baby without even meaning to do it just by giving it a kick or inadvertently stepping on it. |

| Tell me about it! LOL! I can so see how you become addicted to these little faces! I had one when I was a child and I have wanted one again ever since. I think I may be happier than Taylor is! I won't even mention my big tall husband trying to coax her onto his side of the bed |

YT 2000 Club Member | Welcome to YT, so nice to have you here with us. As for the Lepto, I never get it for our furkids, I made the mistake of doing it one time with Isaiah and he had a very bad reaction.
