2+2=4 X the Love ♥ Donating Member | Well I did it, Im DONE it took me 3 hrs but gosh darn it I did it ! I spent an hour cutting material for four vest/dresses. I saved some time by layering my material and cutting several at one time. It took me 3 hrs to finish my first harness vest. I only had to tear the ruffle off one time because I had it misaligned. Than I had to turn it inside out twice because I missed the entire seem allowance in two spots. But its finally done... I figure why I was at it I may as well make two. Than decided that I'll try doing a couple dresses also. Hopefully I can get one done in less than 3 hrs. or its going to be a long weekend. Question for you sewing Devas; What is the best way to attach the ruffle and a sash ? I left the pit & under belly area open to turn it inside out but it was such a tight squeeze. I didn't want to leave the entire bottom open because turning in the jean material would make it too thick to sew. SO what do it do ? I could just sew the ruffle to the jean material and then turn it right side out and sew the underneath material straight across. That would prob be the best way. What do you think ?

| wow you really did a good dusting on that machine, sounds like you are really on a roll now. I have found that leaving the complete bottom open works best for me, I also like to cut the fabric so I have a lot extra to turn over and then press, then when I put the ruffle or trim or skirt inside I do one seam from end to end. I am not sure if I answered your question about the denim though, were you thinking of closing it all up then attaching the trim or the skirt. I think that would be harder and thicker, because you would have to finish the edge of the top of the skirt or trim, it would also look messy from the back and you would have an extra stitch line on the front, of course you could cover that up with a ribbon or so forth I attached a picture of the back of one my vests, the photo is a little closer so you can't see the whole vest, but this is how I like mine to look on that back side, the stich line runs from one end to the other, LOL looks like I might have missed something since I can see I had to do small second stich line, that happens if I don't use enough pins, the trim or skirt wind up not always catching so watch for that when running your closing seam.

| Sounds fun - I'm going to try to join in the fun. Had an idea if the Runway Paw-ject takes off as a regular YT activity. Maybe we could all make the project, and then do a "silent YT auction" and donate to a rescue or to YT. |

| when I cut the bodice to short or used a piece of material that would curl up or fray bad, I started sewing a piece of bias tape or another piece of material on to the bottom of the bodice. that would give me something to grab onto when pressing the flap over.
