Looking for a Yorkie Puppy in Texas Hello everyone, I am new to the forum and I am in need of some assistance. We lost our Yorkie Tipper last month due to congestive heart failure. She was so special and it has been very hard on my wife. I am now thinking it is time bring in a new member of the family. I would like to surprise my wife with a new puppy for Christmas or for her birthday (2/10). I would be interested in either a male or female. I have been searching the internet but not having a lot of luck so if anyone can steer me in the right direction I would appreciate it. We live in Abilene Texas. We are 3 hrs from Dallas, 4 Hrs from San Antonio, 3.5 hrs from Austin, and 5 from Houston. Thanks Blaine Weninger

You may want to check txshopper73...she is a member here, but probably won't be around for the next few days. She has a new litter that will be ready around that time...not sure if they are spoken for. She is super nice and has very nice dogs.

Texas yorkie I was just wondering if you ever found a yorkie? I am actually going down to Texas (moving)with my new yorkies next week and I will be in Big Spring (right down the HWY) for a few weeks (family). I have 2 males left. Let me know if you are interested in coming down to Big Spring. I can send you pics of my babies. By the way welcome to YT!

| Hi Blaine. If you are not looking for a puppy, you can also check out Petfinder.com. Type in Yorkie for your search and you may find a young Yorkie under one year. I've seen a few lately that were around six months old. The good thing is they are coming from a rescue so the $$ you spend on the adoption fee (which is a lot less then buying) would go to help the other rescues. Also, another good site to check out is Puppymillrescue.com. They get a lot of puppies in, that were rescued through dog auctions (puppymill breeders). They are a really good organization. The adopt fees generally are around $400 which includes vetting, shots and spay/neuter. Just a thought. Good Luck and I hope you find the right one. I have three Yorkies rescues and one nine month old Morkie (half Yorkie and half Maltese) that I just bought by answering an ad in the classifed section of our local paper (another good place to look). A woman bought her, and decided she didn't want her and sold her much much cheaper then what she paid, plus she had just been spayed. She was eight months old when I got her. Again, best of luck. | Thanks to everyone. I want to thank everyone that has responded and sent PM's. I talked with my wife last night and she says she is just not ready for a new puppy yet. I am positive if I got her a new puppy it would help take away some of our pain but I am going to respect her wishes and wait for a little while. I was wanting to get her a puppy for Christmas but now I am thinking her birthday might be a better option (February). Can anybody out there tell me how to deal with this situation? I want to respect her wishes but I know a new puppy would help heal a broken heart. Thanks again to everyone. BW |

I think that the best thing to do would be to look around for puppies, and when you find the right one, I think that it will just come naturally.

Yorkie My mother in law went through this several years ago. She was devastated! She was not ready for her next yorkie until a year later. Ofcourse everyone is different. Let her know that whenever she is ready for another companion, you will help find the perfect one. My mother in law lives next door to a yorkie breeder (tiny ones) in Big Spring if you have a hard time finding one in Abilene (if I don't have any). zoey&jax
