Must not exceed seven pounds.

But honestly, some things shouldn't have to be spelled out and just require common sense, right? I mean, anyone with half a brain should know when you're pushing it with dogs being "too small."

Thank You Sherry, I was just going to say that. I Don't thank she really knows much about breeding at all. Just because my male is 2 1/2 pound doesn't mean all his puppies will be that, my female is 6-7lbs. You don't want to breed a large male to a female. If she knew about breeding she would know it. I find that some people just like to fuss about anything.. Even if they don't have a clue about what they are talking about. And Yes I like the little yorkies. thats just me. I think they are as cute as a bugs ear. My Female is just as dear to me and she as some would say normal size.LOL.. I will said do some research before you ? someone about how they breed and why... I have done research and that is exactly why I questioned the OP's intent. And, if you read what I was questioning, it was her goal to have an outcome of little yorkies. I don't believe the goal of a reputable show breeder would be to have only little yorkies, it would be to breed a dog within the standard for the purpose of showing.

LOL that right. and first of all I don't recall me saying I breed for show.. I do have a friend who breeds for show and her male is about the same size of mine and her female is bigger... and together she has the most beautiful Babies.. Wow ...I HAVE to say something - Jenn DOES know alot about breeding and she asked a question that was valid - the whole thread was all about tiny. When people are looking for a puppy - they need to know other things like health pedigree etc...those pesky things you know ??

this thread reminded me of the sites that offer such cute phrases as pocket pooch and purse puppy. I'm all for cute small yorkies too - but there are many breeders out there just trying to go SMALLER AND SMALLER - where does that leave the yorkies that the Ethical breeders strive for ???? From the show breeders I know of - they breed to improve their lines and offer quality standard yorkies. I can't say I know too many who center their lines around how tiny they can get.

sorry Debbie - this is only my opinion offered because you jumped on someone here for asking you a question. Someone that is one of the nicest women I know.

When one advertising pushing the "tiny" factor, you can only assume that is their overall goal.

I don't know where you have done your research. The only thing A.K.C said is the size is to be NO BIGGER then 7lbs. why don't you call some Breeders that breed for show and ask them what size their male is I bet you will be surprised. Where did I say I breed only for tiny yorkies? My male will throw little yorkies.. any where from 2 1/2 lbs to 6lbs. I know he will not throw a 10lb puppy. that was my whole point. No one can tell what size a puppy is going to be for sure not intel they are about 13week old and then you really can't be sure. There are some really good books you can get that may help you.

This board sees SO MANY breeders or 'sellers' I should say...who use this site to come here to make money & sell puppies - yet these same people jump on people here who ask questions ? When you post on public boards you're going to get all sorts of people reading and posting - it comes with the territory.

I'm GLAD YT allows members to read and comment - but when I see someone get irate it makes me wonder what would you do if there was really something to get mad about ?

You must know how many sites stress TINY ...the smaller the yorkie the higher the price. Seems to me you stressed TINY and small so much ....you may have brought on the questions just by the way your For Sale thread was worded. Insulting people isn't going to help your sales in any way.

It is a bit presumptuous of you to assume I know nothing of breeding because I question your breeding goals. I've learned what I have from a very reputable show/breeder who would be repulsed by your attitude towards having a goal of only "little" (your word) yorkies.

No problem, But if she would of ask me about the health pedigree of my line I would of been more them happy to answer that for her. But she wanted to jump me about my breeding my small male. By the way my puppies come with a complete health guarantee and My breeding pair have been D.N.A tested. my puppies have a complete Vet check. She was not even asking about any of that she was putting down the size of my male. And I am sorry if you feel I was jumping down on her. I sorry to say she was the one jumping on me. For my post. She really dose need to do more research before she makes jugdement on people.... Know hard feeling here. Blessing

I think you are mistaken - I never said one word about the size of your male. I questioned your goal of having only little yorkies.

I don't feel I am insulting any one. there is a way to ask someone a question. I am not asking alot for my puppie so that sould tell you I am not out to make as you would say BIG MONEY... If that was the case I could of sold them all my now. I am very picky about who I place my babies with. That is more inportant to me. to know they are going to be loved and taken care of for my babies are apart of our home. and love from day one. I have only One female and one male. I am not a BIG breeder. I have already sold Two and maybe three out of 5 with out placing a add. it was just because people know me and my furbabies. I have seen how some people like to do nothing but belittle people post on here. To me that shows lake of taste. Its is fine to ask question a person should. But to belittle someone is wrong and unchirstlike to me. IF you can't be nice they why say something at all. Don't try to belittle me about my little guy. I am not dumb. I have a very good friend who has been breeding for 25+ years will a very good name who helps me with any question I have. My Male may be little but he is a ball of joy and is very healthy. like I said. I have know problem with question. if that is truly what she was doing.

If my bitch was 7 lbs ..I breed back to a smaller male too.
It's not like she's breeding 3-1/2 lb female to a 2-1/2 lb male.
This forum is really getting bad about jumping on someone who says the word tiny, teacup, ..etc.
