I think most reputable breeders tend to cringe a little inside when they discover they have a tiny.
There is a reason you do not see very small yorkies in the ring.
You said your male will throw little yorkies..any where from 2 1/2 to 6lbs. If thats true, there's alot of inconsistency in the pups. You want to eventually have consistency in your pups...evening out to all stucturally sound pups within a healthy weight range.
There are lots of good books explaining this as well.

Yes I said that but WHY? because it is better on the female... at know time did I say to have smaller yorkies... thats my hole point....Get real I hope everyone knows that you don't bread a large male to a small female... not inless you want to take a change on losing you female.. well I don't.. My booboo is apart of my faimly.. she dose very well with her husband at the size of 2 1/2 pounds..

It's not like she's breeding 3-1/2 lb female to a 2-1/2 lb male.

the net has alot to do with why that word gets alot of response - we see so many sites out there screaming teacup and tiny - and if you really look at them - the yorkies are overpriced and so far from standard it's sad - I'm NOT SAYING THAT ABOUT THIS THREAD or FOR SALE AD - I'm referring to the net ....and the zillions of sites now in the 'breeding/brokering' business.

So words like 'tiny' and 'extra small' do elicit alot of response...it's not always a bad thing and not always a good thing either - cause like this thread - it went totally off topic sorry !!!

You are COMPLETELY missing my point. Did you even take the time to click on the link I posted there! It's a for sale thread, much like this one, FROM YOU with a DIFFERENT USERNAME and weight of the parents listed with the MALE being the LARGER of the two--not at all what you are preaching here now. It's there for you and everyone else to see! How in the world do you think you can actually argue this and say it ISN'T so!?

Thank you Bamafan12s - I didn't miss your point. Hmmm...seems Debbie maybe you have taken your own advice and learned a little about breeding, since your "For Sale" post last year. Now if we can just get you to learn something about reputable breeding.....

I sorry to say I have never bread a larger male to a small female. anyone that knows me and some of you do on here. I did buy a female and male from a lady who was saleing them as a pair on yorkietalk in near my home town. The male was much bigger them she was infact that is how I got booboo. She was already bread when I got her with Rockie who was bigger then her. I was very shocked to find that anyone would pair them together. I gave him away to a very nice lady who wanted him only for a pet and she had him fits. If you want go back to the my post and you will see that is the puppie I was selling. I didn't breed her she was already bread to Rockie a bigger male. Thank god with my vet keep a good watch on her. and x-rays done she did just fine and had 6 babies.

ok i have to put my 2 cents in. i have to disagree with breeding the female due to the fact you stated her legs are short?? am i correct that you stated this? if her legs are shorter than a standard yorkie, and this is a flaw, shouldn't she be taken out of your breeding program?

I don't have two ussernames. I lose my hard drive on my computer and I had my password saved . I couldn't get back into my yorkie talk so with the help of the Min.. on here I just use Debbie not Debbietiner..if I was trying to hide something I surely would of thought of a name besides Debbie. I was going to use DebbieT. They email me a new password and it still wouldn't work.
