Looking for a Yorkie in AZ I've been having so much trouble tryin to find one lately, and have fun into even a few scams. I don't mind the bloodline or anything, though I can't spend too much, sadly. Also, any up for adoption that anyone's found in AZ would be wonderful. Preferably younger, since I know my beagle would drive an older dog crazy trying to play with it. Mixed yorkie breeds are also welcomed. :]

Jeeze, I just realized how horribly I mispelled a few things. Overall, I need general help in finding a puppy as well. I have never bought a dog my sister bought me my beagle when I was about ten. Such as what to look for in the breed or really just anything to help at all. I'm only a teenager, so I can't really buy a very expensive Yorkie, and am looking in the lower prices.. I've heard that's bad? I've seen yorkies run about 500 or so in the Classifieds. Any help is really loved.. Thank you.

| Sweet... What a sweet little post. I wish I could think of a way to assure that you are not "taken advantage" of.....with you being so young, I would just be very careful. Dont rush it.... Don't try this alone....get someone to go with you if you look at a puppy..OK? The best bet is here though. Everyone is so very nice. Sometimes there are circumstances where a poster comes on this site to find a good home for their yorkie. Just keep reading and waiting. Maybe with a little help and faith, someone will be able to help you. I am also looking for a yorkie, so I practically live on this site. Ok....YT'ers ............can anyone think of anything???? | Heh, yes. I've already run into the scam of a free Yorkie being 'shipped' from Africa.. Now the person is basically harrassing me and keeps changing their screenname on Yahoo. I'm hoping if I keep ignoring her, she'll leave me alone. -keeps fingers crossed- Well, the process of trying to find the puppy is what I'm doing alone. A yorkie was intended to be my sixteenth birthday present for Thursday, but my mum's horrid at looking at sites and ran into the costly over $1,000 yorkies. But once I hopefully find a puppy, my mother will be the one taking me, and paying for some of it. I've looked throughout classifieds, but am really just becoming anxious. Whenever I run into what I might be able to get, the Yorkie is either too big (my mum's only allowing a small dog) or is already sold. I was talking to a major breeder I've noticed in Arizona.. And she told me to try to find a breeder who does home raised pets? But I have no idea of how to go about finding that either. :/ |

Ok... First, you are learning.....get some books to learn about these little munchkins. You can look at the newspaper, but you will still need someone to go with you to look......I have not had a lot of luck finding anything in the newspaper....but then I want to show......so,. who knows you may have better luck. Seems there are quite a few YT'ers here that live in your state......see if you can search for members living near you. One thing, this is a big responsibility for a 16 year old. What happens to the puppy when you need to go on a date? Or on your Senior trip? Sounds like your sweet Mom will help you....that is great.....but, remember these little babies are just that......little babies......ok, ok....I will quit preaching.... Why dont we just be patient on here......my friends here at YT should soon be reading this post and will start responding.....

I have been reading up on them quite a bit. Unlike my beagle, I rather just learned her traits since I was so young. Ahh, the newspaper has some.. But I guess I haven't been fast enough yet, or the dog simply doesn't appeal to me. He or she will just be a house pet, so I really don't mind imperfections about them or anything. I've noticed quite a few live in AZ as well, have been reading former posts of people looking in AZ for dogs to learn more. Oh, and don't worry. :] The puppy will be cared for almost constantly. I take online school for a bit until I get my license and car later on, then will switch back to doing a few classes again. But when I first get 'im, the puppy will be cared for constantly. To be honest, I'm rather mature for my age. Since it's only me and my mum living here, I have a huge priority. I take care of all of the animals, and have been raised around them my whole life. I would really like the yorkie to be with me at almost all times, attatched at the hip, really. I don't go out much since I'm a tad shy, so the puppy wouldn't be ignored. Infact, it's a challange I want. I got the chance to foster a dalmation I found this summer and absolutely adored it. My mother, however, thought a dalmation would grow too big for our house and was just too energetic. And I've finally convinced her that getting a small dog would be nothing more than one of our cats, and she said as long as I took full resposibilty for it, I could get one. Of course, if I do go somewhere without my little furbaby, there's always someone home to watch out. I've though this well out for quite some time. That's what I'm hoping. I'm trying to calm my anxious mind, lol. :]

Hah, yes. I found the poor dear in the middle of Queen Creek with half her ear missing. Gosh, she was gorgeous and loving but my mom really HATES big dogs for some reason. I won't, and I hope so

Search I went to the top of this page.....and looked under "search" for Arizona. There were two people on the first page that had puppies due or had one for sale. One was a 1.5 year old. Not sure if they placed her or not. But, it is worth a shot.

Yes, they sometimes are. I've noticed a lot of them out here, just higher in prices. I'm only doing local pickup, as I know my mum wouldn't drive me anywhere sadly, and I still have yet to get my license :P I have come to adore them quite a bit! They're so cute in every way and can't wait to have one of my own. And for price, probably about $800 or under. I'm hoping for around $500, since I have to pay for this puppy mostly by myself. But if I don't find one soon, I think I'm going to try my best and lay low and save, then splurge and buy a cute little female. Ekk, I found a male in the AZ classifieds for $350. I'm going to look into him tomorrow!
