I dont breed dogs, but I've owned enough dogs and did enough research to know NOT to pay more just because the breeder says it's a "teacup" or smaller or whatever. I've see prices differ on the sex of the pup, but not on the size. Besides all this, yeah there are all these equations to figure out how much a puppy will weigh when it's full grown, but in reality the only way to be 100% sure is when the puppy is an adult dog. Also, maybe YOU should research buying a yorkie to figure out what us buyers are learning. The first thing I learned was to NOT pay more because the puppy is smaller, or "teacup", because the breeder is not a good breeder, not respectable, etc. I'm not saying you are not a good breeder because I have no experience w/ you, but I'm just telling you how this is all coming off. Now when Im looking for breeders and I see one mentioning "teacup" or having their prices vary on the size, that breeder is automatically crossed off of my list.

| Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | RaeRae, I got the same price for the small girl and large male so it just shows to go ya! Like I said before ...You Live and you Learn if your lucky. I based my prices on the research I had done in my area and talking to people ( Yorkie Owners, Breeders, Pet Shops etc.) I am fairly new at this and am learning a great deal, so I guess I am one of the Lucky ones (that Learn). HAVE A PEACEFULL DAY, Key2Yorkies |

| Ive seen one of the best breeders on here price a smaller yorkie higher. Just like many other breeders. I dont think Jan has done anything wrong here. I want a smaller yorkie eventually and I am sure I will pay more money for it.

| I'm so happy your babies all found good homes. It goes to show registry isn't near as important as sound healthy babies. I wish you all the luck with your litters to come.

Chachi, Thank You for your kind words and encouragement and everybody else that has given me the confidence to go on. This is not an easy field to break into. I have been doing this for a few years now and thought I was doing a good job until I joined YorkieTalk! But everybody has a right to their opinion and I am learning more every day from everyone here. Whether it be a positive or negative comment. Even though I have thought I was fairly well informed having worked for The Animal Welfare, Veterinarians and Breeders and have been a multiple pet owner my whole life, you can always learn more and strive for excellence in whatever you choose to do in life. I know in my heart and all of my clients know that I take extremely good care of my Furbabies and all of my pets(especially Angel the Afghan) ....Just ask the Goats and Emeus that live behind me, and the Horses next door. They all know when Grammy Jan is coming to talk, hug, play or give them an extra treat. Once Upon A Time..... I had a cat named Stash that I got at 4wks old.At the time my little girl was 1yr.old. Well my little girl Jill grew up and Graduated from Columbia University in Downtown Chicago and her sister Stash was still alive! My sweet little Stash lived a good long life and had 5 litters with 5 kitties in each litter = 25 babies. She lived to be 23 year old, Can you imagine? How many people can put that on their resume? HA!!!!! Have A Wonderful Day!!! Thanks Again, Key2Yorkies ~ Jan

| Jan, I have always told my friends, “The day I am politically correct is the day I want you to shoot me.” There was a thread tonight about a breeder that used the term “Tea Spoon Yorkies ”, and a comment about “ costing an arm and a leg. ” Just too funny! You can only imagine what a hit that made with many YT people. Frankly it still has me laughing here. Also I don’t see anything wrong with your prices, or your descriptions and I hope you won’t feel bullied into not using terms that adequately describe what you are selling. I prefer small ”Tea-Spoon” yorkies and have had 3 of the most precious ones that God ever created. I can remember calling around looking for breeders and being told there is no such thing as a “Tea-Cup” yorkie. Like as a potential buyer I want to get into a debate about political correctness, all I want is to describe in clear terms what I am looking for! I surely sympathize with you as a seller what you are going though here on this thread. So happy that you found homes for you babies, but sorry that I did not get to see pictures of them. |

| Our Blessings R Many Donating Member | Hi Jan, I am so happy for the people that were fortunate to get your babies, upon reading your posting, it is quite obvious they were bred and cared for with much TLC and those were lucky folks that got one. When it comes to what ever a person pays for a yorkie or any breed in my HO is between the breeder and the party buying it, prices vary so be it, the most important thing to us was to buy from someone that had the best interest of their puppy to place it in its forever home in this life time, and knowing this we would most asuredly get a healthy, happy baby. When we wanted to get one after loosing Cassie we looked and looked and of course when we found Baby Blessing we knew that the Lord led us to her. We are now looking to get a little girl playmate for her so I am believing we will come upon it the same way I am glad you found the site here and look forward to your future postings. Take care and have a nice day. Patti ~~Baby Blessing~~ |

![]() I Love your little furbabies name first of all and also Cassie is such a sweet name. It would have been a good name to switch my Jazzi's name to, when I was thinking about it. It kind of has the same sounds to it which is what I was looking for. Oh well to late now! She's my little Jazzi and it fits! She has a bit of a Jazzi side to her, even her walk is so light on her feet and Jazzi. I guess the previous owner new her better than I did. It took me awhile to adjust to her name, but low & behold that's who she is! I am also quite sure that your sweet Cassie going for her walk with God one day (no Leashes in Heaven) came upon the unborn spirit of Baby Blessings and led her home to you. Some might think I'm weird but I don't care. There are things I am sure of and that is one of them. Oh and one more thing I'm sure of is... ALL DOGS GO TO HEAVEN ! WAS A GREAT MOVIE ! Thank You for your Support through all of this and not being one of the people that just want to start...Lets just call them issues... But one who wanted to know what I could bring to the table in a positive sense. You are a Blessing along with your Baby! You said you may be looking for another little girl. You will be one of the people I let know when Jazzi has babies. She is supposed to be going in to her second heat late summer- early fall so we'll see. If Auggie the little Stud Muffin has anything to say about it we may have a little girl or two. It's so weird with his little boys he could take or leave them. But every time he had a daughter he would watch over them like a hawk so that they didn't wonder to far from the Sunroom which is where I had them set up. Maybe they're not much different than we are after all. HAVE A BLESSED SUNDAY !Key2Yorkies ~ Jan

| If your dogs are bargan basement, Moe was garage sale!! LOL...I paid £260 british pounds for him, which converts to $478., but if you want to include the Vet bill to get him back into health, as he was in the poorest shape when we got him, it would come to $700, or £379. I don't quite understand the extremely high prices being paid for some dogs, I have seen $3000 and up even....some dont even have champs in the pedigree, just because thier small or something.I have heard where folks pay the higher prices to avoid the vet bills later, yet thier doggy still has liver probs, or heart probs...hip or knee probs....so they paid more to still have a vets bill.I think when you found the right one you will just know, no matter $100 or $100000...the right baby will be the right one.I always wanted the "pretty" "pampered" girly that I could show, and it was what I was seeking when I found Moe, upon seeing him and meeting him, I just dropped the idea of my precious, and got Moe instead, because it felt right, the breeder didnt feel right, the state of Moe didn't feel right, and most looking to buy a Yorkie woulda passed by him for all these things.....he looked funny cause his eyes were bulging out, he had little to no hair on his ears, his eyes were mucky, and his chest raspy, but my garage sale puppy's spirit called to my spirit and together they agreed they needed each other.I knew I couldnt register him, or show him or breed him, but it didn't matter.

Moe is so adorable and I would have fallen in love too. ![]() I agree with you, If you are meant to have a dog or friend or husband, etc. Then you will... and Moving Heaven and Earth will not stop it. My little Bargain basement Jazzi came to me in just that way. I was wishing for a female around 1 year old so I could start a second female on having Auggie's Babies( he is so handsome and makes the cutest babies along with MaMa ofcourse). I want Roxy to have a break from breeding! I also didn't want to go thru the baby stage again. My hand where full just trying to get Roxy & Auggies 4 puppies paper trained for their new families. So as I was searching the classifieds a Lady came Knocking on my door. She had a flyer that stated 11month old female Yorkie for sale $400.00. I almost dropped to the floor! I asked why she came to my house? and she said she was going to all of the Vets, Groomers, and Boarding Kennels in the Area to put up her flyers and the Kennel right next door to me told her I had Yorkies. So she thought she would stop by just to see if I knew anybody that might be interested. To make a Long story short.. I said " HOLD THOSE FLYERS I WILL COME RIGHT NOW! " that was all it took, I knew the minute I saw her that she was meant to be mine. She looks exactly like my Roxy except her fur is a shade lighter. They could be sister, But they are not I checked the bloodlines and Jazzi originally came from Missouri and Roxy is from here in Frankfort IL. But she was meant to be with me and got along with Auggie right away and he is not friendly right off the bat. Now Roxy and Angel on the other hand love everybody. I even thought I would get some opposition from Dad and the Boys... But they all thought she was Roxy at first and then saw Roxy with her babies and as they all 3 scratched their heads and did a double take. Smiled , Laughed and started petting her. She found her Forever Home at Last and We All knew it..... : Well I guess my short story became long after all, sorry about that. Key2Yorkies~Jan

| Long stories will always come from short ones.LOL short ones being our babies.....LOL ok bad play on words, anyhow...I wish someone would knock on my door with a female baby, I have firmly made up my mind I will have a female...but I am truely wanting it to be one of them Biewers, I fear though for the price of them, this will probably stay a dream, even with Gremany at my back door! So my next wish if I cant have the Biewer is a female yorkie with lots of blondes and silver..lighter shaded.Anyhow....for now we got Moe to teach us the yorkie ropes as we go along.

We have more in common than thought. I am dying for a female Biewer, well maybe not dying. But that is my latest wish... I doubt anybody will be knocking on my door with one of them soon either. If you hear of a good breeder in Germany that won't send me to the poor house, PLEASE LET ME KNOW. I have a post on here in the wanted forum for one but nobody has replied yet. Also it just so happens that Jazzi is the lightest silver, blue, and gold yorkie I have ever seen and believe me I've seen a lot of them having worked for a very large breeder at one time. If she has any little girls I'll let you know. Maybe we can figure out how to get her from Chgo. to the UK. I hate the thought of putting furbabies in cargo or where ever they put them. I alway recommend instead that people taking a trip to the Windy City to pick up there baby and then they go right on the plane with them in a purse carrier. Oh by the way where are you from in the states? ![]() Key2Yorkies~Jan Last edited by Key2Yorkies; 06-11-2006 at 12:52 PM.
