I dont breed dogs, but I've owned enough dogs and did enough research to know NOT to pay more just because the breeder says it's a "teacup" or smaller or whatever. I've see prices differ on the sex of the pup, but not on the size.
Besides all this, yeah there are all these equations to figure out how much a puppy will weigh when it's full grown, but in reality the only way to be 100% sure is when the puppy is an adult dog.
Also, maybe YOU should research buying a yorkie to figure out what us buyers are learning. The first thing I learned was to NOT pay more because the puppy is smaller, or "teacup", because the breeder is not a good breeder, not respectable, etc. I'm not saying you are not a good breeder because I have no experience w/ you, but I'm just telling you how this is all coming off. Now when Im looking for breeders and I see one mentioning "teacup" or having their prices vary on the size, that breeder is automatically crossed off of my list. |
I think it's ok for breeders to put slightly higher prices for their tiny babies (the runts). They're more fragile and that means larger vet bills, etc so you want people who actually can afford them if that makes any sense. I too agree that any breeders mentioning "teacup", "teaspoon", etc are a big no no for me.
Key2Yorkies,
I think your prices are pretty reasonable and I can sense that you're very passionate about your babies. Glad they found new loving homes.
